Yes, this quote is true, obviously. But sacrifices have to be made at every level. Just 'thinking big' might leave in the dust some time or people that matter. Likewise, 'thinking small' might result in some important opportunities slipping by. So, basically, this statement, at least for me, is nothing more than a painfully obvious observation; but shouldn't be taken for or credited with making a course of action because although this quote, mistakenly, seems results oriented, as we all know there is no way to dictate/predict the future; thus, there is no certainty in this quote even though it comes off as such. (i.e. it is not a justification for action, just a historical point of notice). Cheers!

When one aims for 100 marks in the exam and work towards it, might not reach that 100 marks, but one would at least reach 80 marks. But, on the other hand, when one aims at pass marks only (say 40) and works to achieve it, it is pretty sure that the person would fail, given the fact that all the 40 marks attempted would not be correct.
Thus reach for the sky, you might not end up with a star, at least you would not bite the dirt, (as the head is held high).

to achieve bigger goals, to be wise and not ignorant, to understand, to do better in life you should open your mind, i don't mean change your ways or standard but i mean think of things from all aspects not only positive but also neg, pros as-well as cons, reasons why from present and past so on. Dig deeper. It makes you a deeper person and a person who is wise.
"it is harder to not answer ignorance then to blow out with ignorance yourself"
my own personal quote it goes with what I'm explaining, it's hard to do but i try to think more now. When someone says something upsetting, racist and so on, i try to hold on to what ever i might say out of anger and just stay quiet and think that they may be dealing with something, maybe they went through something that made them that way, maybe it was something instilled in them or taught to them growing up and maybe they just had a bad day. Doesn't make it right but you can understand it. everyone deals with something, and has issues.
To be big is to think big, can be thinking outside of the box instead of being trapped inside of the box.

I disagree. If you aim at getting 100 marks in an exam, and get 80, you might get discouraged. But if you had aimed at getting 60, and get 80, you feel encouraged, satisfied and happy. In both cases your marks are same, but you feel differently. You must work hard and expect the worst. It helps you to grow and not give up.
