You never really know for sure. We process our world through our senses and there's always a chance that our senses are wrong. Are you really reading this on your computer monitor or is your computer monitor a delusion? Are you a day dream of some more advanced consciousness?

If I see things that nobody else sees it's considered a hallucination. In this sense we define reality by consensus. But it's possible that I'm seeing something real that other people can't see.

Reality in everyday usage means "the state of things as they actually exist."[1] The term reality, in its widest sense, includes everything that is, whether it is observable, comprehensible, or self-contradictory by science, philosophy, or any other system of analysis. Reality in this sense may include both being and nothingness, whereas existence is often restricted to being (compare with nature).

it depends how you define it.

some might say what you sense (see, hear, etc) is real. but thats only what your brain is interpreting to be real.

when you see something, the eyes send signals to your brains and your brain interprets the image. same goes with ur other senses. imagine your brain is wired and is receiving signals to interpret it as your sensing things... like ur living a life... just like a vivid dream. think about it. i know its a little confusing.
