Hi Guys

I know this might sound stupid but I think I've got a problem with my insecurities. I've been going out with someone for a few months now, he's really nice and always makes me feel good. But because I've been hurt so many times I always feel as if he's going to leave me. And the fact that he broke up with his girlfriend of 6 years last year (February) and told me that he still loves her but not the same way he loves me, that doesn't help me. He also said that he will hook up with her for coffee some time when she comes back from holiday. Is this normal? I know some people like to stay in contact with exes, but I feel that it's not right. Is my insecurities taking over my life?

He says he's in love with me, but he loves her in a different way, as a friend. They split because he says that things between them went downhill and they were on an off for 2 years. He lived somewhere else for a year and in that time she's slept with someone else and so did he

But he says that he's over her and i know i cannot expect everything to be over in a years time.

Is it something I should be worrying about?

It is not normal for someone who loves you to want to hook up with someone they are still in love with. Went through that same BS with my ex. How would he feel if you hooked up with your ex? Even just for coffee? He's being unfair even by just telling you that he loves you differently? How? It sounds like he's not yet over her and is looking for ways to get back with her.' Let him know you don't like it and that if he wants to live in his past, then he should stay there.

Basically I feel that you feel insecure in this relationship. You should tell your bf how you feel when he meet up with his ex. I think this is one of the way to solve your problem and it can also clarify any doubts you have

I think it is a little of both. I think he should ask you, if you minded him seeing her. 6yrs is a long time, and if they parted on good terms(which doesn't usually happen) they have a bond that you should not try to mess with. but he did tell you about it. you should talk to him, and let him know how you feel.
