When you are finished return it immedietly.. It shows respect.. to the person that you initially borrowed it from..
that way in the future they and others will see you will always be responsible..

Till you're finished with the reason you borrowed it. For example, if you borrowed a friend's camera for your brother's wedding, return it the day after the wedding. If you borrow the neighbor's snow-blower, return it when you're finished with the driveway. If you borrowed a movie, return it after you've watched it.
If it's a longer than a usual time, say you borrowed a movie but didn't get to watch it for a week because your kids were sick, you should mention this to the person, to assure them you haven't forgotten.

Return it as soon as you have used it for the purpose you borrowed it for. People do not mind letting others borrow things when they know they will get them right back, and they hate it when they have to ask to have it returned.
