1. Don't get into any relationship until you have reached your goal. That way, you are free to move or travel for business, and you won't have someone distracting you from success.
2. Prepare early for a meeting, etc. You never know what you'll need the extra time for. For instance, if you leave early for work and hit traffic, you'll be able to make up the time a lot easier than if you were to leave home late or on schedule.
3. At work, be the first to arrive, and the last to leave.
4. Ask for a business card when you shake someone's hand. If you end up engaging in a promising conversation with them, ask them if you could contact them in the future. You never know when you'll need a valuable reference or business contact.
5. Learn the customs of each country you visit on business. You will impress those you meet, and make your employers look great! Also learn a few sayings in the language of the country you're visiting.
