I have been retired for a few years after 20 years on the street. There is no other job like it. It was the best time in my life. Ignorant jerks are part of the job, but in the final analysis you can always lock them up when they get too stupid

I've been retired from full time police work for awhile now. I don't miss the a**holes I had to arrest, sometimes with force. I do miss the awe and amazement I felt in having seemingly intelligent people ask me incredibly inane or outright stupid questions about what I did for a living. Of course, I also miss the grand entertainment of seeing some of the insane predicaments folks could get themselves into.
