you will go blind and your eyeballs will pop out.....just kidding. Isn't the whole purpose of 30 day contacts so you DON'T have to take them out? Maybe i'm under the wrong impression...........call your doc........he gave them to you.....so he would know.

In Australia, we call these lenses monthly lenses. Ie: you can wear them daily for a month and then chuck them. But if you only wear them now and then, they will last longer than 30 days. As you realise, because you are making a note of everytime you wear them. However, you don't have to be too pedantic about it. Your eyes won't pop out, but if the lenses are kept for several months, you need to make sure they are kept in a sterile solution..and if you feel any discomfort in your eyes when wearing them, just chuck them! I have patients who keep their lenses for more than a year without any probs, but others who need to toss them after 20 days, due to bacteria build up. As another advisor says....it's your eye health...don't take undue risk...but no need to panic in case you wore them 32 times instead of 30!
good luck

Contacts are contiually collecting bacteria and all sorts of other deposits. By wearing them longer than you should, you run the risk of getting an eye infection or damaging your eyes in another way. I used to wear my contacts longer than I should and it damaged the shape of my eye. When you wear the lenses too long, they can actually cause little tears in your eyes.

Nothing visible may happen but if you repeatedly wear them for more than 30 days they will start scrating your retina giving you infection and in the long run cause irreparable eye damage. Your tears, pollution and natural bacteria cause the scratches so be safe.

I have been wearing my 30 day lenses for two years. I have no problems with them. I always wear my lenses until they either tear, get a hole, or start getting calcium deposits. These night and day lenses have been the best so far, no calcium deposits. As long as they are comfortable, and you can see correctly, i don't see any reason why you should not wear them longer.

do not risk it. placed on them an afternoon longer in case you sense such as you honestly could. yet they are 30 day lenses for a reason. protein boost, between different issues will at last ensue. they're going to dry up swifter, get thinner, rip (which feels undesirable!), and could ultimately scratch your cornea or reason an infection. been there accomplished that (with prescription lenses). not exciting! wish that helped! :)

your eyes will fall out....no, j/k--I wear contacts and on sunday they were bugging me--they felt really dry and eyedrops wouldn't help much-- and I realized that I was supposed to toss em on friday. just do your best to keep track and if you lose track, just estimate---usually if they're feeling dry and itchy it's time to toss em.
