8 years is a long time, and 5 months isn't a long time to get over that.
About a week ago I split up with my long term girlfriend and I feel pretty much like the spark has gone out of everything I do. Even things that I used to enjoy don't seem as much fun. It's the same when I think about other women. Maybe you're in the same boat?
Anyway, think carefully and weigh up all the options before you do anything. Good luck!

NO just give him a chance ( on your terms ), if you give him up, without giving him a chance, you may never know if he could of been good for you, just tell him you dont want to get to serious just yet, just have fun, and see how things go,you said you enjoy being with him, .... if you meet the another guy and the guy after that, you will be thinking the same, everyone and everything deserves a chance.

Just play it by ear while you are both getting enjoyment then fine, it is when things become a chore you want out. But also be honest with him about how you feel, that way you both know where you stand.
Sometimes the Grass always looks greener on the otherside! If you are honest about way you feel, then you have done your bit it is then up to him if he happy with that or not.
Good Luck

wows, 8 year relationship? thats super long.. wells, i think you should listen to what your heart says, whether you want to stay with him or dump him.. but i feel that its better to be in a relationship that is lasting and you are sure you want to spend the rest of your life with him..

sometimes the spark isn't there from the start and sometimes it is and the relationship goes bad. if you enjoying being with him just see how it goes. you don't have any thing to loose.

you know his more of a mr right now than mr right.
If your having your doubts then end it, I know if i were him, I'd rather that the person i was with was with me because they loved me not because there was no one else interested in her at the time.
