I am a police officer, and I have already answered this twice.

In the United States of America, people simply do NOT serve four times their sentence.

If he had been sentenced to two years, and nothing noteworthy happened in that time, then he would have been out six years ago.

Either you are leaving something out or he is.

Someone is lying here, I guarantee it.

If you want, post his name, state and what institution he is in here, and I'm sure someone can find out the truth.

I have checked your previous answers and for the most part people are giving you good reasons as to why he is still in there. My guess like most of the others is that while in prison he has committed more crimes inside and they have added to his time. It is not uncommon. That could also explain why he is being moved around. Maybe he connects with a group or click inside for protection and then has to commit crimes for that click. So they move him elsewhere.

If you are waiting for an answer that you like, such as he should be released right now and go get a lawyer because Colorado can't do that. Your not going to find it.

Also stop asking police officers this question. It should be more directed to Lawyers and Judges or Correction Officers. Yes Police Officers make the arrest and write the reports, and go to the trial, but our connection with the prison system is very limited. We have some knowledge, but mostly once the offender is sent away we forget about it and move on to catching the next criminal.

In your other postings of this question you state that he has done nothing in prison to get into more trouble and that your friend does not lie. In this posting you state "Now maybe he lied there i don't know but i do know how some young girls are " Sounds to me like you may be loosing your trust i your friend and then maybe he has been not so truthful all along.

If your friend only had to serve a 2 year sentence and has been in for 8...he probably is committing prison crime. Violations and fighting on the inside can cause you to keep adding time to your sentence.
Were you there when he went to trial? Were you there with him when he was sentenced?
If you weren't...maybe he had been feeding you a line of s hit. If he is in prison for any violation on a child...statutory rape and/or worse sex crimes...they could be moving him around because most "sex predator's" are mistreated by fellow inmates.
I am getting the impression that your friend is not being 100% honest with you.

There's more to this story than you've been told. If your friend was sentenced to 2 years, he'd be out in less than a year if he kept out of trouble. The fact that he's been in for 8 years now tells me that either he was given a longer sentence than you've been told, or he's committed crimes while in prison and has been sentenced to additional time.

You need to ask your "friend" some serious questions, but if I were you I'd be prepared to get lied to.

there could be several reasons one he may have bene ordered to complete a sex offender class read his sentencing guidelines or he may have gotten in trouble for other things while he was there also the original judge cant help him anymore if he is out of his district now ask him to provide you with a copy of his sentencing paperwork this may help clear the issue up also ask him for his original lawyers name and number he/she has to help you and him still since this was originally there case and he isstill being held on the charges in the case they repesented him in that case also if you find out that you are both correct and he is being held past his max sentence time then you can sue that state that held him and the standard setlement is 100 per day that he wa sheld beyond his max time good luck

The only thing I can think of .. and this is very common... bad behaviour inside can add to your time. Bad enough and you could even be a lifer if you kill a guard.

Write him and ask him. It is the only way you will find out.

~Who doesn't know sh@t? lol I'm not the one asking the same question 3 times! It's SO obvious he is lying to you and if he's a sex offender, why would you want anything to do with him? Now THAT is a good question.~

You can look up public records and find out what his sentence was.
