*The bible gives no last name. I do not know how far back in history last names come from, but our last names were derived from our ancesters occupation. HJim the baker turned into Jim Baker. Fred the blacksmith became Fred Smith.
Joe the carpenter became Joe Carpenter. *

Moses' name in Hebrew was "Moshe" (Moe-shay).
Not only was this not really a Hebrew name (and a name that never appears anywhere else in the OT), but his name WAS similar to those in the royal house of Thebes at the time he was born:
Amose (Ah-moshay)
Thutmose (tut-moshay)
Khamose (kha-moshay)
It's very likely his name was actually Amose, since the difference was really just a breath before the "m".

No, no one ever really pettified the circumstances like we can sitting in front of a computer and living in space air/heating whatever your climate......Moses lived and died in the Egyptian desert where he couldn't adjust the climate control. So what is your last name, like it will matter in a hundred years?
