Okay, so I haven't slept for about 48 hours. That would be Insomnia right? Only I'm pretty sure I could fall asleep if I got into bed, and I KNOW that once I fall asleep I'll be able to sleep for at least 9 or 10 hours. So the thing to do would probably be to just... go to sleep, but I'm wide awake. I don't feel like going to sleep or laying down. Is being up for a few days straight a big deal...? Is this insomnia, since I'm sure I could probably get sleep if I wanted to, could this be something else....? or maybe I'm just making a big deal out of nothing. I do that a lot.

actually thats the strange thing. I have so many things on my mind I can't keep them straight. I don't want to think about the things going on in my head, but I can't stop it :[ you'd think that would make me want to go to sleep....so I can stop thinking...but I'm so wired. I really don't feel like going to sleep, I feel like I could go mountain climbing lol

yeah id definitley say its insomnia!
ive had insomnia since i was a kid, so i know how you feel. i would say this is a serious problem -- i mean your life isnt at stake or anything lol, but you could be setting yourself up for some real problems in the future!
i never got my problem corrected, so i have very random sleeping schedules, i stay up for days on end, i cant fall asleep at night, and i get headaches a lot.
try getting use to sleeping at the same time every night, if you cant do it on your own, talk to your doctor about sleeping medications to help you get back on track. trust me -- its worth it :)

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at.

you could probably call this insomnia. why are you awake? drugs, including caffeine and illicit drugs? stress? fear?
kick the TV out of the bedroom, take a relaxing shower, put on some quiet music, dim the lights, and try a non-presciption sleep aid found in your local pharmacy.

That would be called anxiety. I have the same issues. Go to your doctor, they can help you. I'm on 2 drugs...Remeron and Zyprexa, they don't help with the sleep issues, because I don't go to bed until around 4-5am, and only sleep maybe 5 hours. But it has calmed my impulsive thoughts.

is something bothering you that makes you want to stay awake so that you can think about it?
get some sleep. you are depriving your body time to repair itself. it's not healthy even though you won't die from not sleeping right now
