You are actually on to something hear. Most people can't fathom it is our choice to feel a broken heart. So yes we do this to ourselves. We can choose to not be hurt anytime we like.

there are two situations:
your bf/gf cheating on you
or you having a major crush on someone, possibly older, when you know full well they don't know you even exist.........
hell no to the first situation.
i dont think ppl can escape the second one, its your hormones, noone wants to have their heart broken, but noone wants to forget, do they?
