Good Friday is the day Jesus was crucified on the cross. Easter as they said is the day Jesus rose again from the dead or resurrected. Good Friday is good maybe because this is the day Jesus was able to open the gates of heaven for all of us. When men sinned, the gates of heaven were closed. God promised to send His Son and Jesus was to die to repair the damage done to God. It is like when you hurt a great King, you or someone must make reparation for the damage one does. The offense against God is immense and only God can make reparation for the sins of men. So when Jesus died, He atoned for our sins by dying on the cross. This act opened the gates of heaven for us. He is our Savior. This is why we call it good Friday I think. Easter Sunday is the day Jesus proves to the world that He is God. Easter is the biggest feast of the Christian Calendar. This is how we know we worship a true God because only God can rise from the dead. This is Easter or Easter Sunday. Jesus rose on the third day. He fulfilled the prophesies, He is the promised Messiah. The Son of God and because of Him we are all children of God.

First of all, Good Friday is not the same as Easter. They are two separate days.
It was good in the sense that Jesus' suffering and death on the Cross was the preemptive event to the Resurrection. Without his suffering and death, the Resurrection would not have happened.
And the Resurrection, in turn, destroyed death and won eternal life for us.

The most important miracle in history was the coming of the only begotten Son of God in the flesh, to die for us, so sins could be forgiven and all things could be restored.
In that singular event, the Law, free will, the good, the evil, faith, grace, and God Himself all acted to bring about the salvation of the world.
It happened
in a way that many
never expected,
that some
still refuse to accept
and that many
do not yet fully understand.
It happened
for the benefit
of mankind
and for
the glory of God.
And it was good.

I used to work for a company that considered Good Friday a holiday. So getting a day off or getting holiday pay is always a good thing to me!

it really is in simple terms shows the day Jesus became crucified by Romans - it became the day he died in an act of sacrifice interior the eyes of Christians. interior the Christian Easter tale Jesus dies on a Friday, and on the Sunday (at the same time as Christians celebrate Easter Day) became discovered to be now no longer in his tomb, after it really is taken into consideration by his followers as now no longer being useless - being resurrected. The time period "reliable Friday" is an amalgamation of early Christians remembering and staining this significant day interior the Jesus tale by it being a "reliable" act of self sacrifice and also that Jesus IS God and the be conscious "God" became changed into "reliable".

I cant understand that either. There would have been nothing good about being executed. It should be called Bad Friday instead. Haha

Because of the "good" thing Jesus did for us, although sad--but good, it wasn't really on a Friday either.
