History records that Akhenaton, an Egyptian pharaoh, developed
monotheism some 14,000 years before Moses took chisel to rock,so
why do contemporary theists give Moses any credit for an obviously
plagiarized idea?

Only the ignorant do.

And that's not to mention the fact that "moses" is a fable, a construct of various other real and mythical characters from the middle east, and the fact that the jews were never in Egypt.

14,000 years?
Well, your dates are just a little off, and you confused Moses with Abraham, but your point is valid. Most of the ancient Mysteries advocated monotheism among their initiates. Many people believe that Akhenaton simply proclaimed the secret of monotheism that was already taught in many Egyptian Mystery cults. Some people believe that Moses *was* Akhenaton, or that monotheism was introduced into Egypt by Imhotep (identified with the Biblical Joseph).

Akhenaton did not live 14,000 years before Moses! Probably 150 years earlier only. Akhenaton did not order us to worship the One True God; but rather the Sun God; Aton.

Moses was a prophet and so was Abraham, Noah and even Adam. All preached for the worship of the One True God.

I am not convinced completely that theists, or all of them do. If they do, I would think that it would have something to do with the fact that the Egyptians' rejected that type of religion as a whole or society. Perhaps the theists are commenting on the fact that when Moses took chisel to tablet, it was the first society that embraced monotheism?

I think that is much more likely.

I have never heard it taught that Moses came up with the idea of there only being one god. In fact, if memory serves me right, there was an Egyptian Pharaoh that claimed there was only one god, in his proclamation it was Rah, the Sun god. Akanaken may be that Pharaoh, but the name really is not important. I think he lived before Moses.

No pharoh could have developed monotheism 14,000 years before moses because, according to some, humans have only been around for 6000 years

Well he was the receiver of the Law but AKHENATON was a weak ruler and he worshipped the sun which is a false god. If you really want to go back I would give it to Abraham who even as a child knew there was and is one God. He {Abraham}broke the idols in his dad's idol store.

1) its abraham. not Moses.

2) according to your link, that isn't the same "sort" of monotheism. the abrahamic monotheism is a "one singular god to the exclusion of all others" not "only worshipping this one in particular"
