Okay so Lent is here....something i really love to do is Drink up with my friends! whether its at parties, hangouts, clubs/bars, or just a little get together with people. I think it's gonna be really hard just because spring is just around the corner...what do you think? should i do it?!!!

I think its best to do sacrifices during Lent that bring you closer to God. If you think doing this will bring you closer, then do it.
If I can make a suggestion - sometimes giving up time is a good thing. Sacrificing time to do more prayer, charitable works, religious reading, etc. is something that can help you grow and isn't "impossible" to do.

I think that's an awesome idea. It will give you time out from your regular lifestyle to see what you can fill your life up with instead-prayer, meditation, worship, etc. and many other things! I think giving up something that's really hard to give up is the real reasoning behind actually giving up something for Lent...it's not meant to be easy. God bless and good luck!

im a catholic schooled girl since pre-school til i got my degree in college so lent is supposedly a big thing for us. all i can say is do whatever floats ur boat cuz i think jesus,if he is really good and selfless,would like u to be happy. plus they never said anything about drinking and partying in the 10 commandments ryt?

hi buddy - Lent is not abt giving up drinking . it is a time to make sacrifices for the love of God , it is a time to examine your concience , to offer God your sufferings , your hardships , to offer forgiveness to those that hurt you , to offer a piece of bread to those in need , to love your neighbour , and i could go on and on .
I think it is rather hypocritical to simply give up something for 40 days of a year and double up on what you gave up for 40 days for the rest of the year ?
The meaning of Lent should remain in your heart always , so should the spirit of Christmas -of Easter -
with one basic thing in mind - You are a child of God - so is everyone else around You - remembering always that
GOD NEVER PROMISED US ETERNITY ON EARTH -
ALL WE REALLY HAVE IS OUR EACH TO-DAY ' S

sounds like you are wanting someone to tell you yes man go ahead and do it. the thing is you need to decide for yourself weither you want to drink or not just be honest with yourself and then u will be ok and not have any guilty feelings.good luck

It's worth doing. Might give you a chance to see your lifestyle in a different way and help you to understand yourself.
