I live in California and my court will be in fairfield
the speed limit was 65mph, and the cop wrote 85mph on my ticket citation
how much is my ticket gonna be? do I HAVE TO go to the court?
this is my first time getting a ticket, so is it gonna go into my record?
how do I have to attend the traffic school?

Every answer here (unless somebody sneaks in while I am writing) is wrong. California tickets do NOT have a fine written on them. If you are an adult, tou do NOT have to go to court unless you want to contest the ticket. You cannot find the fine at the DMV website. There is a statewide schedule. For going 20 mph over the speed limit, the fine will be within a few dollars of $266.

You should be getting a communication from the court with the exact fine, and instructions on how to go to traffic school. That will cost a bit more, but will keep it off your record. You don't have to go to traffic school, but if you just pay the fine it will be one point on your record and will probably affect your insurance. I'd recommend traffic school (there are online schools which most courts in California accept).

I know you wanted good news but there isn't any. You have to go to court anytime you have a ticket going 20 mph. over the speed limit. You probably won't have to go to traffic school since it is a first offense. The amount of the ticket will be at the judges discretion plus court cost and you will have to pay it or lose your license.

Check the back of the ticket. In Texas, there is a fine for the first ten miles over the limit, then something like 5 or 10 dollars for each mile past those first ten.

You dont HAVE to go to court, you can mail in payment if youre not fightin the ticket, it could be anywhere between $100-$300

about 210 bucks ,that ws wat i had to pay for the same speed ticket..one tip, u should call the court make up some reason and change ur court date, once or twice ,if ur lucky the cop has something to do on that day he cant show up in court, then ur case is dismissed.

Check your ticket. Mail it in.
If not, go to court.
