You cannot refile, You must file an Amended Return, Form 1040X

This needs to be mailed in, it takes 8 to 12 weeks to process and if you have a refund coming from the 1040X it will be mailed to you, direct deposit is not an option with an Amended Return

You can get the form from the IRS website

Once it's filed, all you can do is file an amended return on a form 1040X to make the corrections, you can't refile the original one. There's not enough time to get it corrected before you receive the refund. If some of the refund wouldn't have been refunded if you'd filed corrrectly, put at least that much in the bank and don't touch it, since you'll have to pay it back.

Nowhere. You had to efile your 2007 return by 10/15/2008. Too late now. You will have to paper file it. odzooker is incorrect about the length of time to file. you have 3 years to file a return where a refund is due. 2007 return filing deadline for a refund is 4/15/2011.

Once submitted, it is submitted (sort of like dropping a letter in the mailbox and then trying to get the mailman to give it back to you... not a chance). All you do is file an amended tax return (you have up to three years to do this). You can amend a return as many times as needed (but I would say proceed with caution as many amendments would certainly tend to flag your return for audit). Good luck!

Nope, once it is done, it's done. You can, however, ammend your return. Go to www.irs.gov to download the amendment form. Good luck!
