I suppose you could try to cover it up with makeup. You should really go and see your doctor though and get some anti-biotics for the infection.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Just check with the Dentist to see whether ice or heat should be applied.
Certain infections can be spread by heat, especially if the antibiotics have been in your system for only a few days. Not sure on this, do check with the Dr., and elevate your head, keep still. Hope you are feeling better soon, that is a miserable pain for sure.

A hot water bottle held against the swelling, and I mean hot, will usually make it drain faster or better still make the abcess come to a head and burst, oh the sweet relief. You still need to do this even with antibiotics as it makes the pain go away faster!!

Right now start swishing HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (swish it and spit every hour or two all day). IT HELPS VERY PROMPTLY. It is possible it could reduce some swelling by evening. It will definitely reduce the pain. It will heal all the way down into the root system.
If you have never used it before HYDROGEN PEROXIDE 3%
is in the drug section of any store and usually on the bottom shelf (brown bottle usually) next to the rubbing alcohol.
Good Luck

well you could use foundation and concealer especially on that cheek and wear your hair in a position so it covers the swelling.
but really you need(ed) to go to the doctor because if you got some anti-biotics it would take most of the swelling down in at least 4-6 hours.

Rinse several times a day with warm salt water it generally brings the swelling down but still go to the dentist as this will only cure it temporarily

How big an abscess, and have you had it looked at?
Go to your local pharmacist and ask them what type of dressing to cover it. They may suggest a Op-Site Post - Op water proof dressing or Cutifilm plus waterproof island dressing, (they do come in a clear or skin tone) or they may even suggest to leave it alone.
Being on the face it is going to conspicuous, what ever you put on it to cover it up.
Good luck and have a good night

1.
You could sweep you hair to the side so it falls more into your face and alls over yr cheek.
or
get one of those concealer badaids, it's a small square with rounded corners and it's smooth, it also has non of that cotton padding on the sticky side, you could put foundation right over it, or try o start a trend draw a happy face on it..or your bamnd's logo..if you have one.
.good luck

Are you taking any antibiotics ? If not you should be, if you are I would bet the abscess has gone down enough it won't be noticed. They usually work pretty fast.
