but at the same time I respect their beliefs about non existent things... Why?

Your question may have more depth of meaning than perhaps your composition of it reveals. On the surface, your question suggests that you may be ill-mannered and lack any sincere intent to raise a meaningful dialogue. After all, while it is true that believers limit their thinking by fervidly clinging to irrational beliefs and primitive dogmas, that doesn't justify a poor attitude or a poor question on your part. It appears highly doubtful that you respect believers or their beliefs, given the apparent humor you take in belittling them.

Clearly, your question fails to be particularly thought-provoking, much less respectful. If your goal is to so offend the religious that they will never consider a rational, atheistic life as a possibility for themselves, then you have probably succeeded. Kinda like making a touchdown for the OTHER team, ain't it?

You can't help laughing at believers of God because you know you are missing something in your life and you are hiding through laughter and the same time you are amazed at these people who belief in God. Deep down inside you are searching what makes these believers of God to belief in God. The answer to it just look around you, the breeze you feel and the air you breathe, the skies above and the oceans?How do nature functions on their own, it seems they have their cause of value on this earth. But there at times this nature erupts to an uncontrollable circumstances? Definitely there is good and bad situations as in human life. The believers in God, esp in the true christian faith are more focused when faced crisis. ( I mean true christian, b'cos there are false believers who mock God, but pretend to believe in God, presumably being pious in the eyes of man). You do believe there is some kind of supernatural force, that's why you respect these believers? Because you are completely oblivious.

083.029 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe.

083.030 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery);

083.031 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting;

083.032 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!"

083.033 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them.

083.034 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers:

083.035 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things).

083.036 Have the Unbelievers been paid back for what they did?

Tolerance?

Despite the fact I couldn't disagree more with the Bible, I told a friend she should read up on Jesus to help her out. It's nice having that false hope, and really I think some of us are a little jealous. But if I had a choice to be delusional, or a free thinker, well I'd stay the same.

I feel sorry for people who can't make that simple leap of faith every now and then. Although you respect people's beliefs, which I have seen most people here disregard, the fact you laugh tells me that you are missing something in your life and you are trying to hide from others what you don't have.

Because they do the most hilarious things. Wiggling and writhing on the floor and waving they're hands at the ceiling while humming gospel songs they don't know the words to. What else should you do when someone puts on a sow for you?

I did not think you could laugh at and respect someones belief at the same time.

Would you be ok if I felt very sorry for you that you were alone in your life with out god. ?

u can't laugh at someone's opinions, you need differences, if we were all the same, I'd be bored and so would everyone else. But no don't laugh, how about discussing differences and debating.
