Question for hairstylists regarding the retouch of roots.?

I have really short hair , it is about one quarter shy of being a full inch. . . About one half of my hair needs to be retouched . Seeing that my hair is already so short , will it be possible for the stylist to retouch ONLY the roots without saturating any of my already-colored hair ?

that is really short, it can be done but it sure is a pain in the a&&. I would wait a bit then get a cut and then recolor the roots. are you growing it out? if not then i'd cut it then get the retouch. seek the advice of your local stylist. everyone is a little different in the way they do hair.
