How do you make your meatloaf? I never like it much as a kid, but as an adult I love it. Unforunately, mom passed away before I could get her recipe.

What's in yours?

2 lbs of ground beef
1 large onion chopped finely
2 tsp of minced garlic
pinch of salt and pepper
1 package of Lipton beefy onion dry soup mix
4 tbs of wortershire sauce
1/2 cup of ketchup
and bread crumbs to thickin up the mixture

Mix all the above together and place in a baking dish

After the meatloaf has cooked for 1 hr. I then take 1 cup of brown sugar and 4 tsp of ketchup mix them up until blended and then place on top of the meatloaf. Place back in oven for 10 minutes.

The topping is amazing and my kids love it.

I buy the McCormicks meatloaf seasoning and just follow the recipe on the back, but instead of putting the ketchup on top of the meatloaf, I mix it into the ground meat.

I do the old recipes from the 50's and 60's. But I toss in green chiles and toasted pine nuts and bake as usual. It's a nice twist on an old favorite.

Ground beef, minced onion, grate one carrot, chop up a little chinese parsley, a dab of ketchup, a few spurts of soy sauce. This is how my Aunty made it. Carrot made it moist & yummy.

My dad added dried bread crumbs and egg with minced onion to the ground beef.

my sons love mine, so you can say my recipe is son approved.
mine includes 2lbs lean gr. round, worcestshire, ketchup, salt, pepper, chopped onion, bread crumbs soaked in a bit of milk, and 3 beaten eggs. i dont measure the worcestshire or ketchup or anything else, because i've made it by what my like and dislikes are. i mix it by hand. stuff into a loaf pan. rub ketchup ontop of the loaf. and bake at 350 for an hour. and of course you have to serve this sucker with mashpotatoes and peas!
