Well I'm thinking about converting to Buddhism.

Do Buddhists believe family matters? Will I be reincarnated beside my family?

I couldn't imagine life or next lifes without my brother...

I am not a Buddhist, but I served a mission in Taiwan, so I understand a lot of the Buddhist ideas in comparison to Christianity.

One thing you have to understand is that there are a lot of different brands of Buddhism out there. Just like there are many christian churches, all with their specific beliefs that make them different from others, Buddhism also splinters to many, many sects.

The Buddhism I am most familiar with (Chinese Buddhism) does emphasis family, because they have integrated traditional Chinese religion, ancestor worship, and Confucian ideals (filial piety being of utmost importance here...).

Unfortunately, despite these family values, there is a bit of a paradox, because if you believe in reincarnation, the family of your life now will not be the same in your coming life. Your mother or children or husband, while they might be important to you, will not be preserved in these roles.

This is just my opinion, but If the world and the purpose of life were really according to this Buddhist plan, personally, as far as I am concerned, this is a great tragedy. Families are forever.

No, the point of Buddhism is to end attachement, and that includes attachment to people, because we believe that it causes suffering. If you are looking for family values, you might want to try Confucianism, which is an eastern religion centered around family life...

Your idea of converting in to Buddhism is great.
there are lots of great concepts in Buddhism which leads to great family life.(Singhalovada sutra or Gihi vinaya).

According to Buddhism attachments leads to sorrowfulness.Things are changing.Every thing that has started will have a end some day.

In the next life u will have, u might have your brother as a close one and there also a possibility of not happening that.Nothing is exact. If you hope to have your brother as a closed one in your next life there is great possibility of happening it according to some stories. But it depends on both of yours Karma.

In Buddhism, we believe when there's a strong karmic connection, it would bring whoever parties together in their future life time. After all, all the people we have met or still meeting, in one way or another, we have some connection in our previous life as parents, siblings, wife, husband etc....so that why we strongly emphasize all beings as our 'mother sentient beings'...

And no, as far as I know, Buddhism don't quite believe in fast food though it didn't stop people going there...

The cycle of Life begins with birth, it continues through life to death and then if there has been negative Karmic consequence through poor choices in life, there will be Rebirth as a consequence of the unresolved negative Karma, this includes unresolved negative Karma from previous lives as well.

The Lord Buddha was very practical when it came to living with the Dharma or Teaching. Family life is included in its messages. Family happiness is important and it is our duty to bring happiness to our family as much as it is to bring happiness to ourselves, in fact by following the Dharma's message we should strive to do just that, for this will encourage good consequences from our good actions allowing positive Karmic consequence for all those close to us.

Rebirth results from a combination of unresolved negative Karmic consequence as well as a continuation of our selfish clinging attitudes. When we are free of the negative Karmic consequence both in this life and from the unresolved Karma of our previous lives and we are free of our selfish clinging natures then Rebirth will be unnecessary and we will evolve to a higher Realm.Your family members too will be subject to Rebirth, this is the sad reality for Buddhists and non Buddhists, Buddhists see Rebirth as a natural cycle to which all Beings are subject, not just Buddhists alone.

Adhering to the 5 Precepts and by following the Eightfold Noble Path we are assured of reaching this state of enlightenment as stated in the Fourth Noble Truth, but it is not an easy Path and takes purposeful continuous effort and the Path is never ending. This is because our awareness expands along the journey and is not a goal to be reached and then stop the process. We eliminate our clinging to our self serving desires along the way which allows our awareness to expand to embrace other Beings and make sure that their happiness is enhanced by their encounter with us.

If a Rebirth becomes necessary then it is entirely up to Karma whether we encounter our former siblings in our next life. In doing so it will not be possible to even remember them as our Aggregates or Parts are reformed on Rebirth in different measure than they are in this Life, even gender is not fixed and memory of former lives is generally only fleeting..have you ever experienced deja vu..? This is a fleeting previous life experience remaining in your memory in this life.

Forgive me if I've caused you pain, with practise you will come to realise the fleeting nature of our experiences and your filial love for your brother as important in this life for certain, but in and of itself it is impermanent as is all life experience and therefore cannot survive beyond death which all life must endure.

I hope I've helped you and not confused with these issues.

Peace from a Buddhist...
