Depending on how much you weigh now - you technically *could* lose that weight in 53 days - but honestly, your body is still likely healing and I wouldn't anticipate losing that much and keeping it off.

After I had my son, I lost 25 lbs in 2 months, by doing 25 minutes of aerobic exercises a day - it doesn't matter what it is as long as you get your contact heart rate going consistently... Then to tone I did 50 pushups a day and 35 situps.

Diet wise, I didn't starve myself - but I ate usually a yogurt for breakfast, then an apple or cup of fruit for a snack, tuna (no mayo sorry) or salmon on a small salad with 1 tbs blue cheese dressing, a bell pepper or celery for afternoon snack and a child size portion for dinner that included one 1/2 cup steamed veggies, brown rice, and usually 2 turkey meatballs or a small slice of fish or a chicken leg for dinner. To drink I drank green tea all day - I brewed it at home in a large pot. One tea bag per cup - so usually 8 - 10 cups with 8 tea bags and then 2 tsp honey to it. It had enough sugar to get me off the soda - even diet.

I find the key is healthy eating rather than crazy dieting to keep it off.

Over the last 6 years I have lost 80 lbs and kept it off. It's not as hard as everyone makes it out to be if you are really motivated... but then again motivation is never easy.

Remember the goal is to keep it off - I would assume - if you want to keep your job.

Congratulations on the rehab and good luck on the weight loss. I have been there - on both accounts and I know you can do it. :) If you ever need to talk, my e-mail is momzilla42@aim.com

**oh - and I recorded yoga and exercise programs and did them when I got home :) Saves you money that way!

** I keep reading the other people's things and thinking of other things too - I have to agree with the food journal for starters - at least the first week... If you can keep it up longer that is great. I found it was actually easier to do it the other way around and plan out my meals. I planned them to the snack and wouldn't allow myself to eat anything other than what was on the menu except for Friday nights, which I allowed myself a "free night" - it wasn't a night to gorge myself but I was known to get a taco now and then.

** Also - for the exercise plans, I personally like Denise Austin, she is campy and cheesy, but she will give you a decent warm up, cool down, work out and yoga session and is usually shown on most areas - I have found this out because I have moved a lot.

The best way to monitor your eating is a food diary. It reminds you to focus on portion size and quality. And it's harder to cheat with a bag of cheetoes when you have to write it down.

There are calorie counters online you can do for some of your favorite meals to see what is in what you are eating.

I recommend getting a few different work out DVDs. they have a variety of lengths and types of exercises - and having a few means you won't get as bored. If you need hand weights and don't have them use canned goods as stand ins.

Also going for a walk/run in the morning or doing something else first thing to get your heart rate pumping for 20 minutes will mean more burned calories all day long.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.

You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.

It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

Check your local listing on TV. There are exercise programs on in the morning and you could do them then or record them and do them later. Drink lots of water because that takes the weight off quickly. Good luck and I am so proud of you for going to rehab. You made a wise choice and I will keep you in my prayers. You need to eat three meals a day, but make sure it is a health diet.

There are a lot of work out videos that you can rent or buy, or workout shows in the mornings on TV. Otherwise, put on your favorite music and dance your a** off for an hour!
No carbs, high, lean protien diet will scrape you down quickly, too, although it isn't the healthiest thing to remain on for a long time, so moderation!!
Good Luck!

Exercise. the best way to lose weight is to run. most energy is lost from the legs. u can run once a day 5 times a week for at least an hour to be effective. or u can visit the gym n run on the threadmill if u prefer it indoors. have light meals with lots of veg. (boiled) avoid heavy meals of carbohydrates. avoid supper and lots of sweet stuffs as excess glucose will be converted to fats

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be
