Speaking as a coach, sometimes things fall through the cracks. You have alot on your plate as you prepare your team. So sometimes if you don't speak up about a situation, a coach may not be aware of your discomfort or displeasure. So speaking up isn't a bad thing. Ask her if you can speak with her after practice. But definetely during practice, work your hardest at all times. Coaches love that - regardless of what position. She may think that you're best suited to learn all the positions and she can count on you to handle it. Or she may be testing you to see where you best fit into the scheme of things. Regardless, tell her your feelings on the subject but do so in a constructive and mature manner. Don't threaten to quit or whine. Life isn't always fair - sometimes you have to take what is given and make the most of it. If you truly love the game, you'll find that being part of a good team and playing your role to add to their success can be just as rewarding as being your team's number one weapon. Good luck with your season - play hard - life is short!

You could talk her if you want to. If I were you I would choose my favorite position or the one that your tem needs the most help with and try to work on that one. If you work harder on that one while still doing the others you will be a better all around volleyball player and you will have a better chance of getting a position designated to yourself. Keep working on it and talk to the coach. Find out why she has you all over the court. Mabey he has a good answer.

Volleyball is a team sport and it sounds harsh, but if your role is as the utility player then that's what you have to do to help the team. YOu might want to politely inquire why you haven't been given a position, but don't assume she is doing it to short you. Look at Craig Biggio. He was never really great at any given position, but he played them all and now he's a future hall of famer. Look at Magic Johnson. All he did was execute the fundamentals and he played every position, even filling in for Kareem.

It is good that you're being played at a lot of positions, this means that you're good at them all. Being a good all around player is a valuable skill. Once you've gone around positions for a while, you'll find the one you're best at and your coach will notice. If you're a lefty, you'll probably be a weakside hitter, this way the other team will be surprised, as backset hits usually aren't as common. If this really bothers you, talk to your coach, it's their job to listen to you.

IN middle school, coaches look for potential. They want to see a player who they think would be able to improve over time instead of a player who will stop improving. If a coach corrects something, make sure you follow what they said so that you look coachable and like you have potential.

Absolutely just do the best you can at whichever position you're at. I was basically a utility player for the better part of a decade on the best team in my state and got offers for division 1.

if you know of a position that you would like, then you should talk to you coach. otherwise, you are being helpful to the team by being able to play more than one position.

I think you should take it as a compliment...she is pretty much saying that you are good at all the positions and that she wants to make you a all-around great player!

You have a gift not many people can play all the positions. Just be glad that your not on the bench.
