Sometimes when I'm falling asleep my entire body suddenly jumps involuntary.
Has anyone had this?
Is it common or is it just me? :D

The medical term for what you are describing is 'myoclonus.'

When it happens in the context of dropping off to sleep, it's perfectly normal. When it happens in other settings, it can be a sign of neurologic disease.

Yes, I get it all the time. It is involuntary muscle spasms. Sometimes I am dreaming that I am falling and nearly jump right out of bed! I also yell when I am falling asleep (how weird is that?) Sounds like "HUH!!!" Without the question. I wake myself up with that one.

Nope, however sometimes, I feel like I fall a bit out of my body. Its weird and hard to explain, but it happens sometimes.

Yep it happens all the time. The worst is when I am lying still and my hubbys body jumps.

I've had that happen periodically ever since I can remember. I don't think it's anything to worry about. It doesn't happen often enough for me to be concerned about it anyway.

It's called Hypnic Jerk. Check out this website and it'll tell you all about it.

This happens occasionally to both me and my husband. As long as you don't keep jerking, it is OK.
