There are a few possibilities. First, if you don't have Windows XP Service Pack 2, you can't load the new Windows Media Player properly. Also, I have found that when I make a movie, I have to use My PowerDVD to play it because the Media Player won't play it properly.
You might also want to check what extension you saved your file as. (.mpg, .mov, .mod, are a few extensions.)
The best thing to do is get a copy of PowerDVD and use that to watch them. Here's the link to the download page for the trial version. Or you can ask your computer store if they have a demo you can try.

I hope this can help.

you said that your file didn't run in media player. first check out the video file you want play. is it corrupt or does it supports the extension? make sure those thing. try running your file in other computers. if it is the same everywhere then your file is improper.
