King James hated women so all of the women in the KJV of the Bible became witches, prostitutes or virgins. Since a large group of Christians decided that the KJV was a good idea, the stupid vies of women in general and witches spread. A couple of bishops way back when has some issues and wrote the Maleus Maleficarum which explained that witches could be identified in a whole bunch of bizarre ways. None of the higher ranking Church members would sign the M.M. so the two bishops forged a signature and some idiots decided to use that particular pile of dung to torture and murder thousands of men and women. The image of a witch kind-of stuck.

Christians reject witches because the bible tells em to.
Atheists reject witches because they don't believe in magic.
I don't reject witches, for I am a pagan, an egyptian pagan, but a pagan nonetheless. Do not let those who reject you get to you. They are ignorant and heartless. Find other witches to be with, or pagans in general, they, as far as my experiences go, will not reject you because many pagans are witches.

Because Christians believe they have the lock on all morality for everybody and that anyone who belives something else is evil. No matter how popular Willow of Harry Potter get, Christians will demonize them with their dying breaths.

Because people are afraid of "weird" or unexplainible things. It's just one of those things people don't want to try to learn and accept kind of the way they are towards religion, race, and sexual orientation. They're afraid that they might actually be wrong about something.

I dont reject them I just think magic is nothing more than a great understanding of physics and chemistry and math. But a religion, now come on.
