i have been going out with my boyfriend for three years now. he is a good man morally but what suprise me most with this guy is that he does not give me gifts even on my birthday. his birthday comes first before mine and i make sure to give him something good but he only gives me cards. he is working so do i but he has never taken me out for lunch, i have done that once but he did not return it. on valentines day i bought him a gift but was suprised to see him coming to my place empty handed. im really confused, what kind of a man is this? when i don't have money, i ask from him but he reminds me to give him back when im paid. he has a better job than i have. was suprised last week when he told me that he gave some money to his elder brother's girlfriend to go to the saloon to do her hair that pained me most since he has never given me any money to spend the way she did.

You should talk to him about this. Open communication will only help the situation. It appears he handles his money much differently than you do. You show people that you love them with gifts and you have no problem spending money on people you love. Obviously, your boyfriend feels differently about his money.
After some heart to heart discussions, you have to decide if you can live with his behavior (whether it is being stingy or a lack of feelings of love). Money is very personal to people. You will have to learn to talk to him about this.

He's cheap....Find you another boyfriend. After 3 years, he should have given you some gifts. You sure don't want to end up with this guy forever. We all need a little gift every now and then.

He doesn't give you gifts because he knows he doesn't have to. He must be under the impression that you don't expect gifts from him. Seriously, not giving you a gift on V-day? That would be grounds for a break-up for most women. You let him get away with it... thats why.

he doesnt sound like a good b/f. he sounds cheap and nasty! dont buy him anything and see if he reacts. i know you have already wasted money on his cheap *** but you gotta see if its a money thing or love that he's with you for. it'll take some time but see if he pays for anything. also it wouldnt hurt to just ask him why he doesnt pay for anything or gives you anything. present always make someone happy, he should want to make you happy but isnt really fussed with that. good luck babe
