The word you are enquiring about has been around much longer than the 15th century, as one other person has claimed. As a matter of fact, it is an Indo-European word that has been around for thousands of years. This can be seen from the similarities between the English word for that activity, and the expressions that other Indo-European languages use.

The word has been around since 15th century or so. It's not an acronym as many urban legends claim.

Edit to add:
Dennis J is right I should have written "has been around in the English language... "

It was originally an acronym:

Forced
Unlawful
Carnal
Knowledge

(Carnal Knowledge meaning to 'know' someone carnally/physically, as in the biblical sense... to have sex with them)
