My sister was the same way. While she had ideas about the way she wanted her wedding to be, she simply didn't really get into planning it. She is easily overwhelmed by large tasks and sometimes has a challenge making decisons.
My mom and I are great with planning and details so we did most of the planning for my sister's wedding. Maybe you can find a friend or family member who can help you and act as your "wedding planner".
Don't feel bad if you're not into planning your wedding. Afterall, it's only one day and the most important part of that day is the person you're giving a ring to.

Wow you can honestly be my sister. I too am getting married in July, the 21st and boy do I HATE weddings. I can't wait to marry my fiance but I DO NOT want to have this wedding (his idea) and it's so expensive and now we can't even pay for it. On top of that his fat mother finds every single way she can to ruin it for me as it is. The only problem is if we cancel now we lose our deposit and have to pay the hall more money to cancel. I've been miserable since I've been engaged, I hate it hate it hate it! I don't care about flowers and dresses and girly crap either. I think that maybe you have some sense unlike the rest of these girls (who obviously have rich parents and go overboard). If you two have the option, elope, save yourself the hassel and the money, like I said, i'd do it but it will cost me even more money that I don't have. Anyway it's nice to know I'm not the only one out there dreading my wedding (well paying for it at least) at least I have the greatest guy in the world after all of this crap is over.

Probably because planning a wedding is a huge pain in the A**!!!!
Don't feel bad. Weddings are expensive and the same things that you would buy for a non-wedding event are obviously overpriced because the word "wedding" is attached to it.
Planning a wedding means going into a shop and dealing with fake smiles who want to sell you as much excess as possible. It means "registering" your name with one of these said businesses, so that the businesses that they work with can give you a call and offer you their services as well.
Pick a color, any color. Want green bridesmaids dresses? Ha fooled you!! There is no green! there is sage, forest, lime, hunter, winter, mint, avocado, emrald, and on and on. Not only do you have to pick a color, you have to pick a hue- and thats if you only want ONE color- which no one does. Then, after you pick your color, you get to try and find matching EVERYTHING for that color. At some point, you get to pick out your bridesmaids dresses- and I promise you, they will ***** no matter what you pick because there is no one dress that fits everyone.
BTW, family getting on your nerves yet? They WILL.
I repeat, weddings are a pain in the butt- tell your fiancee to read this if he has any doubts. There is little doubt in my mind that you are completely stressed out. Since your wedding is in July and it is the end of February, you do need to pick a dress- something, anything.
Good luck and remember, in July, it will all be over and you will be married to the one you love.

I can understand what you are feeling. I am getting married on March24,2007. There has been days that I don't really feel like I am really in to it, then there are days where I feel that I am not going to get everything done in time. Try to make it a point to sit down with the one you love an voice any concerns that either of you may have and make sure that this is what both of you want.
My guy is wonderful, he has been there for me and I just didn't realize it, but we are happy.
Make time for each other and also take some time for yourself, the stress of trying to get a wedding together is very stressful.

Maybe overwhelmed would be a good guess. Maybe try a dress that is not so "bridey". Go for elegant and not so frilly. Maybe the girly thought is true in the frilly dress area. Try a sleek, elegant dress. Or maybe even a simple, hankercuff skirt, very elegant again though. That is the clue here. Doesn't have to be frilly.

I had a lot of problems getting over how horribly my fiance let his ex wife and parents treat me. His parents still have the wedding pictures from his first marriage all over the house. I kept thinking about those pictures. It took my fiance standing up to them to help me get past those feelings. Perhaps something similar is bothering you. It feels a little like buying a used car instead of a new one.

Brides expect to be excited about the wedding - but wedding planning is stressful and while some brides absolutely love planning - other brides don't and those brides don't find the process particularly exciting. As long as you are excited about the actualy marriage, that is what matters.

Dear,
I am not married yet. i planned with my love for it twice, but for us family has a major role too. So we have still problems. Anyways, what i know is there are so many days with both of you. Why dont you ppl go for few days together out.Jus let out all of ur feeling to ur fiancee, he will understand. But there will be few things for which he also dont have answer. So many qns always remain un-answered so dont worry about them. Just go ahead there will no problems. Its just un-easiness.
Go ahead. GOOD LUCK.
