If you quack like a duck and flap your arms and glue feathers to yourself does that make you a duck?

Does calling yourself a Christian or Hindu or J.W. etc. make you better or more perfect than everyone else?

Are trying not to sin and not sinning the same and is not sinning even possible?

Most people have moments in their life where they feel better than or righteous... I guess I am just wondering what makes you "feel" like you are better than anyone else, is it your religion, your good deeds, why do so many people look down upon others, is it what the others have done or is it the way you see yourself???

It will take a serious person to read this question and honestly answer! I won’t say that I have never looked down my nose at someone but the more I see people do it, the more I desire to be different!

How do you feel when you are looked down upon? Do you want equality? Are you setting the example?

I never asked anyone to believe what I do, I simply asked have you ever felt better, or more important than someone else and what the reasoning was behind it? And looking back do you still feel justified in your judgment? That's all, I was not trying to attack anyone!!!

Personally, I think everyone should just stfu and realize that they can't force anyone to believe what they do. I don't think everyone should believe what I do because for some people, it just isn't possible. I don't think they should resort to breaking the law or ignoring morals and ethics because they don't agree. I think they should realize that by doing just as you (the question) are pointing out, they only make themselves look bigoted and foolish. We are all one race, one people, humans. If we don't get off of the path of destruction we're on now, it will only be a matter of time before we screw up our own planet and lives.

Personally I HATE the label "self-proclaimed" because it is usually used for people of non-Christian religions (self-proclaimed Buddhist, self-proclaimed Satanist, self-proclaimed Wiccan)....Just because YOU do not belong to that religion (and by "you", I'm being hypothetical) does not mean that YOU are not "self-proclaimed" as well. Only YOU know if you are part of a certain religion (or non-religion), so, in effect, EVERYONE is "self-proclaimed".

Personally, I'm not exactly "defined"...though the closest I've come to a definition is "Spiritual Agnostic", so that's the definition that I use if I need to clarify myself.

I DO want equality, though. I personally don't care if you're Christian, Satanist, Wiccan, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, etc etc. So long as you treat me with respect, I will treat YOU with the same amount of respect. But if you disrespect me, then I will cut you out of my inner circle. I do not hang out with people who are disrespectful of others (except family members, but they know not to be disrespectful in front of me or my family). I do not look down on them, but rather, don't include rude people into the things I do. I will not be rude to them, but I will also not pretend to agree with something I do not agree with. If that makes me appear "self-righteous", then so be it, but it is NOT the impression I am TRYING to put out there.

I do perform good deeds but try to avoid thinking I am better than anyone.I feel we are here on eath to grow in love and learn and we grow at different speeds so just because some are fast and some are slow does not make one better, just faster or slower i have had people look down on me but figure they are slow learners and have no anger

Err... no I call myself a Heathen because that's what I am. It should be obvious to you that I am not trying to make myself look more "righteous" by calling myself that.

People always look down on me, I do not give a damn. It doesn't bother me; I've gotten used to being "the black sheep of the family" a very long time ago.
