"Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith . . . we need believing people."

"Don't hit someone because it hurts." makes more sense that "Don't hit someone because God said it was bad." Character is based on a feeling of sameness and empathy toward the people around you, it neither involves nor requires a god to validate it.

A religious foundation and religious instruction should begin and be maintained in the home .Believers should not totally rely on other people to instruct their children .The instruction they get at school should be in addition to their instruction at home . If parents would teach their children right from wrong and be good examples there would not be so much violence in society.I am in no wise against christian schools on the contrary I like the idea but I don't think the children should be too isolated from the rest of the world .They need to learn to live and interact with people or they will be socially crippled as adults "Ye are in the world but ye are not of this world" and "Do not light a lamp and hid it under a bushel but let your light so shine before men".I think children can turn out alright when taught either way when the parents are involved in the childs life .Everything cannot be blamed on or left to the schools.

No, I do not agree. Although I do feel that students should be given the opportunity for religious instruction, (outside of the school) I do not feel that it would be correct to force it upon anyone. (I am a Christian) It is true that to try to teach morality without teaching about God would be "air", However, I don't think it is the job of the school to teach morality at all. They need to rely on the parents or other family members to do that. Personally, I think the schools are getting far to involved in "parenting". They are there to teach mental (intellectual)knowledge that will allow a person to be able to function in a job, shop for groceries, buy a car and keep their check book straight.. The parents or the religious community should be responsible for the rest. Faith can not be mandated.

I believe that the fruits of an ever increasing secular society prevalent in both the education system and society in general is directly related to a marked increase in immorality as a whole.

Well sorry. Secular schools are the law! If you want to teach your children about God, it's your right to send them to private Christian schools. But how can you require people to send their children to one school or another based on faith? That is naive.
Also, the role of the Government is to educate it's people, not fill them with moral instruction...
sorry he loses on that one.

How often do you see a group of leader standing togther. Also we need faith for all the believers to understand those that have so much internal struggle.

Twaddle! The most moral people I know are atheists. The most bigoted, intolerant, xenophobic, hate-filled people I know call themselves Christians. Keep religion out of schools and keep the hate and bigotry out at the same time.

No. It sounds rather elitist and nutty. Ironically, I could consider that quote from either a Mullah or a Fundie Christian, they think alike about many things.

ah, the old morals without god line.
This planet must've been in a sorry state before christianity came along. Oh, no, wait it wasn't.
Also, all the atheists here must be murderers. Oh, no, wait they aren't.

I disagree with the quote but will give my child access to Biblical teachings. I will teach him to learn the Big Bang and Darwin to pass tests, but that both are nonsense.
