I asked this guy i was "dating" why he was soo interested in me. He said his "lame excuse" is that because i'm "pretty", "smart", "intelligent", and "not like other girls" - what does he mean? Is he being straightforward as he can? ohh yeah - he's a shy guy too so he doesn't like to be personal like this.

yup. You can't break it down any further than that. Just watch his actions. Men aren't as poetic as women, when it comes to saying what we feel. But they are more of the doers So jsut watch how he acts aruond you, does he do little things for you like a quick peck on the check at random times? Or does he carry your books for you. Does he pay for lunch, or offer some of his?

lol i laugh at the beauty of this question. He is being real. Maybe you A R E indeed pretty, smart, and not like other girls. Maybe you should chill out from thinking that hes a dog. Most girls go through a stage when they start to analyze guys, asking themselves, "Is he like all those other men? Is he a dog?" Chances are, he is one. But if you two go well together and you try really hard, he will turn in to your puppy lol. Good luck

I agree with "Someone" above (that sounds funny) in that (1) don't call his feelings lame - not sure if those were your words or his and (2) wait until you know him a little better then ask again, except this time ask for details and/or examples. If he cannot tell you ask him to think about it then get back to you. If his answers continue to be vague then, well, maybe he is being lame.
Also, be prepared to answer the same question!

Your answer is kinda in your question. "he's a shy guy too so he doesn't like to be personal like this." maybe you should wait until you know him better to ask him. Besides, if you really are everything he said, then why question it? Don't call his feelings lame if it turns out that's how he really feels.

yeah focus on the pretty and intelligent part....and ur not like other girls means...he likes you instead of liking other girls. right?
the lame excuse part is that he might have a limited vocabulary about expressing himself in a short amount of time.

I think he told you exactly what he meant and did a bang up job for a guy who is shy. Just enjoy each others company and have fun. Don't get so rapped up in what does he think and what does he mean. Sounds like he is doing a good job of telling you.

Those sound pretty good. Give this guy time. He is not going to be expressing every emotion and feeling to you if you have been dating for a short time. Guys need to trust and earn a women's respect before he begins to express his true feelings for you.

He was trying to not say that you turn him on physically as well as spiritually.
You should always try to understand what people do not say. He probably meant everything he did say but did not give a full accounting.
Give him a chance to open up. Sounds a lot like me years ago.

GO FOR IT!.....If he says those things, then he means business. He likes you, or I would say he does. he is only being shy because he doesnt know how to express his feelings. Just give him time, it will all come out.
