If you do, tell me.
I have a Doberman, Named hammer. he is my 11th dobie. I've been raised with dobermans, and they are the best breed ever! dont beleive me, then check out the stats..
I saved him from a shelter when he was 11 months old, he is pure bred, but his first owners couldnt keep him anymore because they already paid too much for him " a thousand dollars" and they didnt want to keep up with him, so they dropped him off at the shelter when he was 3 months old. he then was adopted agian at 9 months, but he got loose, but when the shelter picked him up, the second owners didnt want him, they said that he was too big and stalky, and they just didnt want him anymore, he was too affectionate. and they didnt have time for that. and when i came in to look for a dobe with my father, the shelter said he only had the weekend to live, it was friday! I adopted him immeadiataly. Now he is being police trained by me, bc all my dobes were. and now he is the best obediant dobie ever!

I'm happily owned by two female Dobermans -- One black and tan, one rust and tan. A total of 5 Dobermans have been kind enough to enter my life and shower it with laughter and love. It is so nice to read about others out there who share my love for this breed.
All 5 of my DoberKids have been females. My first Doberman was actually my husbands. I met her while we were first dating and within a few weeks, I knew I was DoberHooked. Sasha was in our lives together for 3 years, and sadly, she left us at 10 due to Cancer.
Right after her came Shelby -- who had a variety of names during her 14 years on earth. She started out as Shelby La Rue -- which quickly changed to Shelby La Rue Breath of Dog Doo -- after catching her smacking on her own droppings. As she aged, and became more prissy, she became The Princess of Poop (related to her "Mine doesn't stink" attitude). Later in life, as her bark aged and became somewhat less strong, she became Chooch -- as a result of her sounding like a choo-choo train on one bark, one she could never live down! That then grew into Chooc-ah-la-marooch -- the *ahem* shooting pooch. When her Wobblers took over, she was lucky to make it out the door before the "*ahem* flew. She clearly was my joy and after a year without her, I still miss her greatly.
When Shelby was 4, we added Cobra to round out the Shelby Cobra team. My husband is a real Mustang and Carroll Shelby fan. Cobra was with us for slightly over 6 years when she blew her ACL. We tried cutting edge surgery called a TPLO on her so that she could return to her normal, active lifestyle, but the surgery went horribly wrong and we ultimately lost her. That was 7 long years ago -- and yet she is still so much a part of our lives.
With the loss of Cobra came Blaze -- aka Crazy Blazie! She's my current red and very much the "challenge" dog. I laughingly tell my husband had she been my first Doberman exposure, she'd have been my last. She's total Alpha and has been the first Doberman that I've ever really had to train for a "job" to keep her happy. She's made for protection and has been trained to use her natural and highly tuned traits to best advantage there. Otherwise, she's just a goofy girl who is ready to "kick some (_!_) and take names" if need be. Fortunately, I've only had to see her training put to use twice -- and I was glad she was there beside me!
Just before Shelby joined Cobra at the Rainbow Bridge, we added Ember to the mix. She was the perfect pup to bring into a household with a 14 year old and a 5 year old. Ember is a loving girl, funny, and full of spunk. She was a breeze to train and integrate into the pack. Shelby loved her and taught her so much before she left us. So I now have my set of "fire" and "coal" in the Blaze and Ember team!
I can't imagine my life without a Doberman in it. I hope to ultimately become active in breed rescue. There are so many who need the help to get into good, loving, forever homes.

Ihave 2 dobes and this is the first time i have owned this breed and now no other dog compares. The first is my baby girl and i got her from a friend when i was 8 months pregnant with my first son. She should probably never have been born as she is very inbred and has all sorts of expensive problems, but i wouldnt trade her for any thing, i love her that much. The other girl i have is a rescue(i foster and retrain abused large breeds). But when we got her from the puppy mill she was housed at she had a full dead litter in utero and a prolapsed uterus from the approx. 6 litters she had born and she was only 4 years old. She had never been to a vet, never been around people and the vet surgeon had a hard time saving her life. She spent 8 weeks at the vet. They were going to put her down as she was so sick but i wouldnt let that happen, so i paid most of the anticipated bills the day she was rescued. She is now 8 years old and getting on a bit but the day i got her out of the vets it was like she was a puppy all over again and she is a wonderful family dog, very trusting, very tolerant of the kids and considering where she came from, very loyal and protective. I now love dobermans and have never owned a more intelligent, easy to train but still goofy dog. They rule the world (my world at least).

I have had every "large dog" from an akita to a rottie, and I have a 4 1/2 month old femal red dobie now, and she is the BEST DOG i have ever had. She is the smartest and sweetest dog alive(and not to mention the cutest). She is truely a "velcro dog". She goes everywhere with me, and when im at home she is right by my side. She even tries to jump in the shower with me(she has succeeded a few times). But they are the #1 dog to me. I will never have another breed besides a dobie. We are actually considerin adoptin a beautiful yr old from the shelter that was hit by a car and her owners didnt want to pay the bills to get her fixed. But I LOVE DOBIES NOW! EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE ONE!!!!!

I have a 2.5 yr old red female. She's my first dobie, and I wasn't educated enough to research for a good breeder, so she's from a byber. I have learned my lesson and will definately find a reputable breeder or adopt from a shelter when I get the next one, because there will never be another breed for me. They are wonderful dogs, always loving, in tune with your moods, playful but gentle.

I personally don't have a doberman, but I am impressed with the ones I do know. In the right hands, they are great dogs. Congratulations on giving your dog the "right" set of hands.

I do not have a Dobie, but I have a few friends that have them and they are great dogs. In my opinion they are the sweetest of all of the "guard dog" breeds, and one of the sweetest of all dog breeds.

I have also had Dobermans my whole life. I adore them! I have also had other dogs in the past; they are by far one of the smartest dogs. It has always been very easy to train them.

I've never had one of my own, but I've fostered a couple, and they were absolute sweethearts! Their new owners just love them.
