I'd quote it in full but there isn't enough space here. It's about how we cannot comprehend the spiritual with just our rational minds; (25)"The foolishness of God is wiser than men."

Some of you aren't getting the point. I'm not saying we should expect atheists to read the Bible for themselves. I'm saying that when they ask a question, such as "If God is real, why can't I see Him?" or "Why isn't everything perfect?" and everything along those lines (which is all their stuff adds up to really) we should quote from that scripture because it has the answer expressed perfectly.
And of course, to quote scripture to an atheist is to challenge him on God's terms, not his own terms. But remember, "My word does not come back to me empty."

It sounds reasonable in theory but the problem is they do not believe the bible to be anything other than an "old book of stories, none of which are based in fact" I recently had a long discussion with a confirmed atheist. He has no "faith" in anything and he believes in "nothing that he cannot see or is tangible." People will believe or not in what they want. I have referred many people to the books "Case for Faith" and "Case for Christ" written by Lee Strobel. (he has others too) He was a former atheist and converted to Christianity. :)

Interesting range of answers on here Brian. I would do both, I think. Refer them to the scripture (quote it) and then give them a real world example. If they chose not to listen, then that is their freewill choice, and then it may be time to "wipe the dust from your heels," so to speak. God bless!

Why in Gods name would you ask an Atheist to read the Bible to
proved a point. To help someone to understand your point of view
you start by being the kind of person you are asking they become.

Atheists don't believe in scripture, so simply referring them to scripture won't help. They need real-world proven examples of what you're talking about. If you state a scripture, you're going to have to prove it with evidence outside of the Bible.

No, I don't think that would do much good. I have read some of the answers you have received and it reminds me of "don't caste your pearls before swine". (Not that I am referring to non believers as swine) But before someone will go to the Bible to read it with true interest, their mind and hearts must be opened. Until that time, like some of your answers said...it is useless. All you can do is pray for them.

No. Let Islamo-Fascists deal with them in accordance with the Koran... that ought to stiffle the alliance between the Jihadists and the Marxists quickly.

so what if they demean God.
its not about trying to adjust their attitude. its about what our attitude should be when they are being who they are.
a good scripture for christians to remember is where some men said something negative and it says that Jesus ignored their negative report.

There would be no point. Atheists have discovered that the bible is a totally unreliable source for much of anything, so referring to it would be useless.
