A 24 yr. old girl writes the following as part of an email about herself in regards to dating:
"While it is easy for them to receive my friendship it usually takes a while for them to receive my trust. Sometimes my request for patience seems too unreasonable. I fully understand if people think this way. As i said before, there are few people in this world who are truly patient. (especially in the fast moving city)"

Actually, I should rephrase the title....How does the passage come off to you?

It seems reasonable to me. Friendship can be given, but trust must be earned.

LOL, well...its not just snooty, its damn for stupid...and makes no sense whatsoever.

"its easy to recieve my friendship?" LOL "but takes them awhile to receive my trust." Well, aren't we high on ourselves....LOL

And in the same breathe she states, "sometimes my request for patience seems to unreasonable." but in the next breath states, "I full understand if people think this way, as I said before, there are few people in this world who are truly patient."

Ok, she's confused.......and what in the world does a fast moving city have to do with patiences? Awww...and analogy...I get it.

Ok, this girl is trying to be someone she isn't, educated to start with, and probably trying to protray herself to be more mature than what she really is, she tends to have high expectations, but in reality would date a dog if he barked loud enough....

Thats my take on it........

It does not sound snotty at all, but it is very vague and lackluster. Who is "Them"? Guys who want to date you? Guys who flirt with you? Why is it easy for "them" to recieve your friendship but not your trust...and doesn't that mean some level of trust if they are your friend? So what do you really mean by trust? How can people reading this statement relate to your feelings if they don't know what the heck you are really talking about?

This gal isn't snooty or snobbish. She simply knows herself and
what she wants, and she's just stating the truth as she sees it.
She is NOT stuck on herself (as one of your answerers said),
because she knows how much she's worth and she will not
lower her standards for anybody.
I tell you straight, she's going to get what she's after.

It means she realizes that she is asking for a bit much and her past experiences have taught her that she won't find what she is looking for easily. It takes a very strong woman to refuse to settle for just anyone. I think it's very fair and wise of her to let you know up front.
