This is probably the reasonable way for Tony Blair to do. Remember that he announced last year that he will be stepping down as Prime Minister sometime this year. So, it might be that he is doing preparations so as not to pass the burden of war to the next Prime Minister.
On the other hand, Bush need not worry about the current quagmire in Iraq. When his term ends, he'll simply pass the whole mess for the next President to sort out. Then the failure of the Iraq war can no longer be blamed on him. The new President will own it. A very smart plan indeed.

When is enough enough. Nothing Blair does is correct for you guys. It is the right thing to get the troops out of Iraq.
Everyone on the planet realized Bush was an idiot when he got out of the back seat that plane on that carrier, and declared victory. Still, the war Bush caused isn't simply going to end if the U.S. and Britain pull out of Iraq. What do you think they are just going to do, just forget Saddam's hanging like America forgot the twin towers and the missile that hit the pentagon?
George did a bad thing, and it appears somebody else is going to have to fix what he broke. The only problem with that scenario is that the old saying "if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger" is a lie. Sometimes if it doesn't kill you it maims you or cripples you, or you simply cannot repair what is damaged. What Bush has done over his two terms in office certainly hasn't made the U.S. stronger. Believe it or not, it's time to end the war in Iraq. Stupid blips like "cut and run" or "surge" disgust me and cost lives. The sooner the better get all non Iraqi troops out of Iraq.

I believe this whole terrorism thing is catching on. Britain has a very big Muslim population on the Island. Allot of Muslims especially the more wealthy ones from the Middle East settle there in England or get their educations. It just wouldn't be proper to be there while its Tony Blair's last year in office, and Bush's as well, bombing the hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan. They are regrouping for the next round with Iran. Hey its only an Island.

there is not any way any of the applicants ought to do away with the troops suitable away. Doing so could be an entire disaster. this might desire careful making plans and attention. This replaced right into a huge hollow in his election grants through fact pulling the troops out at latest could be impossible. the united kingdom troops will no longer be able to flow suitable away the two. Very careful making plans will might desire to be coordinated with the united statesto confirm each thing is going easily.

compare Basrah to Baghdad and see what differnces you can come up with
I will give you a clue. The British have done 10x better job that the US with far far fewer soldiers. Its just the way the British work. They do what they can to protect the innocent where as the US does what it can to kill them all ( not literally ). Basically the British controlled areas are in a much better shape thatn the US ones even though its easier to get Iranian arms into Basrah than Baghdad

Brits! they ain't where the Americans are at, that is why the casualties are low, i'll like to see them in Al-Anbar Province or Baghdad. That's where all the mess is at. At least if you compare them to where we are at. I don't think they had any effect on Iraq. They didn't accomplish anything. Just like we haven't, which is why we wanna stay and get the job done.

Britain has accomplished their mission in Southern Iraq. They are withdrawing and turning control over to the Iraqis. There is no need for Britons to hang around when their goal is complete. Once the US has stabilized the rest of the country then we can can withdraw and hand over control to the Iraqis too. Nobody's cutting and running.
