They put the credits because the show is on T.V. and most people wanna know who play's who and also it was someones idea to do something so if you want to kow where it came from it says so in the credits.THe credits tell you EXACTLY everything the show had in it and who did what, where to find it and oh so much more.

Why do you put credits on research papers... To credit the original source and who put the original work into it. You can't make a movie and tell the people who helped you that they don't deserve a tiny mention somewhere.

Its kind of a "thank you" for those others who help with the show but lets face it, do anyone remember who did the lighting or makeup 3 movies ago? 1

so that everyone who helped create the movie or show can be properly credited in the production of the show or movie just as you would in a research paper and credit your sources.
