Unfortunately I dont know how high but its quite true. I'm a foreigner currently residing in Korea and I have heard a lot of suicide attempts and successes these past few months which is you know... quite shocking at first. Depression still is the number one cause of deaths and the second, parental expectations. Most suicides that I've heard of are done by high school or elementary students. That's why my friends say that the second scariest place to go to in this country next to hospitals are elementary or high schools at night.

The rate fluctuates, it is at the highest point when the college entrance exams come around and when the results come out to determine which college or university they will get into....SNU the highest and downward from there....they (Koreans) believe it will affect them for the rest of there lives.....
