I got home and found that my two chihuahuas had eaten my entire snickers bar!! I'm scared now because i heard that dogs could die from eating chocolate... will they be ok?? they seem fine... they're running around playing but it still frightens me a bit.

two chihuahuas-1 snickers-they will be fine.you should probably get the number to an emergency vet for these situations though because your dogs sound like little troublemakers!!!

The darker the chocolate the more toxic it is for the dog. There is not all that much chocolate on a Snickers bar and they did share the spoils. Since they are acting normal I doubt you have anything to worry about. Relax!

There might not be enough chocolate in a Snickers to do hurt the dogs, but then again, they're chihuahuas, little dogs.
I don't know the dosage for your dog, but hydrogen peroxide or salt water are the usual ways to get a dog to throw up.

Two dogs shared a Snickers bar? They'll be fine, the caffeine in the chocolate may speed up their heart beats, if they get too much they
would regurgitate it. The peanuts are good fiber for them.

You may want to call your vet to see what he/she says. Follow his instructions before you take medical advice from non vets. Chocolate is bad for dogs but it depends how much they eat of it. I had a problem with my dog the other night and called the Emergency Vet thinking I had to rush my dog there and the vet was so nice to tell me what to do over the phone.

You should force them to drink hydrogen peroxide so that they throw up the chocolate. While it may not be enough to do a lot of damage it is still bad for them and they should get it out of their system. If they ate it within the last two hours you should definitely make them vomit. It will make them feel better in the long run.

Baker and dark chocolate is bad! but they should be fine. Like the others say. Keep a eye on the they should be fine. I bet they are CUTE! Sorry i cant be more help.

Ok don't panic. Your dogs will be fine, It's ok for them to have a tiny bit of chocolate but not too much. I'd contact your local vet if i was you.

Its the dark chocolate that you have to really worry about. Chocolate is poisonous so i would keep an eye on them but I wouldn't worry if they shared it. Give them lots of water.

I would not worry about it just try and not let it happen again it is cute that they share things together, just watch out for the dark stuff.
