Hi,
Im glad to hear that you got another bird for the male!
The reason why they are acting strange is because they are either 'shy' or 'showing off'.
If he didnt like her, he would be doing wierd noises! He would also be going at her and hissing (kind of!!)
He followed her to the food, because he wants to know her a bit, when he ruffled up his feathers, he was probably showing off, or even marking his territory.
Dont worry!
It is a great start!
Keep up the great work,
hope this solves your question!!!
Bye

They don't seem to be attacking each other, so that is a good sign. Tapping each others beaks is a sign that they are getting romantic. If the male feeds the female from his crop it means that they are getting ready to breed. If there is no nest box in their cage they will probably just be friends and play together, especially if they are young. Best wishes.

You know, its kinda funny that you ask this. I just got a second budgie on monday. Shes albino :) Anyway, they preen eachother, they talk to eachother, and feed eachother. When they open their mouths, do they put them together like 'kissing'? If so, that means they are feeding eachother and regurgitating food, which is the ultimate sign of tenderness from one bird to another. It will take them time to get used to eachother, but they seem to be doing well if they dont attack eachother, and arent fighting over food dishes or toys. As time goes on they will feed eachother more, preen eachother, talk to eachother, and if they are anything like my baby boy, they will try to get it on at some point and time. Hope this helps! HAVE FUN!

you could tell the intercourse between a parakeet with the help of the cere. The cere is the fleshy pores and skin that includes the nostrils. A adult males' cere would be royal blue until eventually it incredibly is a lutino (all yellow) or albino parakeet. Then it would be purplish purple. a woman might have a tan/beige/diminished whitish bluish cere. whilst they are in breeding project they might have a somewhat extra effective brown crusty cere. desire I helped!

When he is on top of her in a climbing fashion. And then weeks go by and you have like 6 new bouncing baby birds.

Sounds like they're getting along nicely so far - no fighting, and no problems over territory. If he starts feeding her, you'll know!
