You're not just having anxiety - you're having full blown panic attacks. The first thing you must do is "tune" yourself into feeling them coming on- once you have mastered this, you will be able to stop it from becoming a full blown attack-- if you are at work and this is about to happen- go to the ladies room- wet a paper towel and take it into a stall- sit on the toilet and put the wet towel on the back of your neck- and rest your head on your hands with your elbows on your knees--sit there with your eyes closed and concentrate on taking deep breaths through your nose and out your mouth-- breathe slowly THIS IS IMPORTANT- if you're like me, you'll be still thinking of what is going on out in your work so you have to shut your brain off and think pleasant thoughts-- they can be erotic, or subliminal but let your thoughts be of something you get extreme pleasure out of- for me it's being on the beach and I think of the sun, sand, and hear the water-- and by the time I'm done thinking of that great place-- the panic is gone and I'm relaxed-- it usually is 2-5 minutes-so none of your coworkers will think you're gone AWOL. and it takes a while for the xanax to help- you must take it faithfully and as prescribed- 4 daily, 3 or 2 whichever the doc ordered-- and if all of the above still doesn't get you through it- call your doctor and have him increase the dosage- they usually start you off on a low dose and then increase it--- but seriously try my suggestions, they work for me-- good luck to you........if you ever spazz out so badly that you really start gasping for air- carry a paper bag in your purse and start breathing in the bag-- it automatically regulates your breathing correctly and keeps you from hyperventilating and will calm you down.

you sound like your having panic attacks. Your swallowing too of your oxygen. Try a paper bag by breathing in your own carbon monoxide. Go to quite place and relax, even if you have to drive away ,concentrate on your breathing. Remember all those famous rock groups, girls got so excited they forgot how to breath and they passed out. It's almost the same thing. Actifed cold tablets works effectively which you can buy at any drug store. Helps you relax and breathing control at worst times. You should learn to listen to nature music, something relaxing.
