sure legalize prostution and pot properly. no to other drugs.
also i think being a bit more brutal to the Gangs and crimnals would do wounders. also we should be teaching patriotism and companionship in schools so they kids cant see a defferance between people.

As for the crime, i would not know the answer, there are too many factors to consider. But yes, go ahead and legalize drugs and marijuana so you'll have more high people running around, beating other people up, breaking and entering, possibly raping and possibly killing other people. And legalize prositution, so you can add the problem of an increase in the number of cases of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV.
I'm sorry but I don't even know why the question was asked!!Think about it, at present drugs, marijuana and prostitution are illegal but there is still so much crime. Think, what would happend if they were made legal? What would happen if suddenly getting high and doing crazy things were suddenly legal and allowed? More crime!!

Think about this for a second. At one time in our deep past everything was "legal". That includes drugs (marijuana) alcohol, prostitution and many many other things. If they were so great, why were they made illegal? Maybe because through experience, our society has determined that there is no real reason to support these things. Maybe because when you drink a 12 pack, smoke two-three bowls of BC Bud and go visit the girl on the corner $h!t hits the fan and you become out of control, or you have marital problems, or you father a child that will either be aborted or grow up without a dad, probably sold into a sex slave ring or grow up to be a 12 year old prostitute.
These things are illegal because they are immoral. However, a society cannot legislate morality. Never have, never will. We can only hope the 5-7% of the immoral people in our society will never take over.

Who says there is so much crime in America? Well, besides the news?
Certainly there are exceptions, but in general crime rates are lower now, per capita, than they've been in decades. More people means there are more crimes commited, but the crime RATE say, the chance of you being a victim of a crime, keeps going down, year after year, decade after decade. People are a lot more paranoid about stuff, again, probably because of the news, but we are safer today than we have been, probably since the industrial revolution.
But, should we legalize marijuana? Yes. How is it any different than alcohol, or even cigarettes? All of them:
- Alter your physical and mental state, and can make the user dangerous to others if abused (granted, cigarettes are unlikely to make you crash your car, but the 2nd had smoke is a problem).
- Can be addictive.
- Can cause long-term physical damage if used often and in large amounts
- Can conceivably lead to the use of other drugs.
- Are used by a lot of people responsibly.
Marijuana at least can claim that it CAN be used medicinally, and in that sense seems to offer truly unique benefits.
I also like what byderule said.

Well if you swapped it round and had it legal while alcohol was banned, it would make anywhere safer. Things like alcohol and tobacco are known to be harmful and addictive, while Cannabis although mildly addictive, is banned on pure propaganda. There have been no unbiased results about negative effects published, and the ones that are published are done by pharmaceutical companies who view Cannabis as a cheap alternative which can be grown in any climate, tie that in with the fact that Hemp is a cheaper alternative to synthetic fabrics used to make clothes, and paper made from lumber, it becomes very obvious how many big companies benefit from it being illegal. Personally I don't indulge, it's still illegal and I'm required to take drug tests for work, however I've put in the time to do research and the only scientific study that wasn't stacked to get results was one that found canniboids to attack the blood vessels supplying nutrients to certain types of cancer. I know a lot of stoners, and I have to say, the ones who seems stupid, weren't particularly bright in the first place, although I believe (as there's no evidence yet) that in the case of high school students smoking it, it probably does impede brain development.

I think legalizing Marijuana or prostitution could work to lessen crime in other countries, but not in ours. Unfortunately, our Puritan roots categorize both those things as not only harmful but "bad", making it a moral choice and not a functional one. In other words, if both were legalized, we'd still have communities trying to keep them away, marginalizing them to poor areas and ultimately creating the same problems we have today. In any other country if drugs and prostitution were legalized, I think they'd see great losses in life at first, as people overdose or blow their checks on paid sex, but eventually an equilibrium would occur making either of those things no less harmful than alcohol.

might as well the result is a lot less criminals
and the youth will have to be educated by their parents
In the Netherlands most things are allowed but the youth is very conservative
if you tell kids smoke ,take drugs ,kill your self ,they will refuse ,and the resulting morality is from within ,from the individual .this kind of conviction is hard to break..
tell them everything is illegal ,and that is what they will end up doing
basic psychology ,but most of America ,is too scared to try it ,
the problem is that people dont have faith
,in their own teachings and in their kids
they make the mistake of entrusting the church and the government with morality,as if past behaviour is a recomendation
lol
both of these concepts are only interested in power and control

You mean reduce crime by not calling it crime any more? That would only increase the amount of those things going on and they are NOT the kinds of things we should want to encourage.
Drugs destroy lives. They kill people, they turn people into thieves so they can get the money for drugs, and turn people to prostitution for the same reason.
Your first question Why is answered by the attitude of so many people, if it feels good do it.

Crime is high because for one some people are just bad eggs ..
And another reason... most criminals are just lazy and don't want to work and would rather steal from those who do.
No i don't agree with legalizing Drugs,or Prostitution and Marijuana IS a drug by the way...

NO to prostitution. Too many girls out there who were molested as children... How about helping these gals get back on their feet and finding some self worth???
Funny how it's always only MEN who want to legalize prostitution.
Get a life!
And no to the other two, also.
I've seen too much of the negative side of that sht in my family.
Just get a job, folks.
