You will not be able to upgrade the Win95 box to WinXP or Vista. Check this link out for more info:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/upgrading/matrix.mspx

Since you cannot upgrade, this means you will have to do a fresh install of XP. XP might be your only choice because the laptop probably won't pass the Vista adviser.

About Vista:

You will need to get a CD to pop it into the laptop to install. Otherwise you will have to set up a network and grab XP from the other computer. I hope this made sense, if not email me.

edit: macs and their unimouses are junk. video and gamer junkies need them, but they arent even good gaming machines.

Vista is more recent, has an aspect bar, lot extra safe practices which could rigidity you nuts, the computer seems a touch extra appropriate. the position as Windown XP is a touch older yet truly some human beings favor to apply it because it really is nicely acceptable with all classes (maximum) , while Vista will be very annoying and not at all understand gadgets or softwares, etc etc. also XP calls for 512 mb of ram and vista needs atleast a million gb. i'm no computer freak. =]

I guess there places you could download. I would be afraid of what may come with it. I use Ubuntu Linux, it free and do everything I need. But, gamers may think different, though I run windows programs, one of which is, World-of-Warcraft. I think it a big-time game now. But, you have to learn how it work.

go to microsoft's website, they have a utility to check if your hardware (doubtful for a machine running win95) will support the new bloated OS
