If the puppies are too big for her to deliver, she will need a c-section to deliver. Watch her during delivery and if she labors for too long without giving birth, call the vet immediately. Let your vet know of the possibility so s/he can be on alert. Hopefully she delivers all fine!

You should take Emily to your veterinarian if you haven't done so already. Your vet can do X-rays or ultrasound to determine the number of puppies she is carrying as well as their positions and sizes. If the puppies are positioned awkwardly or are too large to fit through her birth canal, your vet may advise you to have them delivered via C-section at the vet clinic.
That said, even if the puppies are small and will fit through her birth canal, there is a very good chance that Emily might die during the birth. At only one year old, Emily has not yet gone past her "teenage" stage and is much too young to be a mother. Just like in young humans, young dogs have a greater incidence of complications at birth and a higher risk associated with it.
If Emily makes it through this, please have her spayed and have all the puppies spayed or neutered prior to giving them away or selling them. This was a mistake breeding and should not be repeated.

How long has she been having contractions?if she has contractions for more than 1 hour, she should be rushed immediately to the nearest emergency vet so that they can determine what is going on with her.I have seen dogs do just fine delivering larger puppies...and some that didn't, but your vet can help. First rule of thumb, leave her alone!!!!!Check on her occasionally to make sure everything is moving along, but too much attention can make her labor stop.Second, make sure she has a nice warm place to deliver the pups.No outside deliveries!Third, she doesn't need your help delivering.you can hurt the puppies badly if you do try to help her.Call a vet if you have any questions, here is not really a reliable place to get information...good luck.
Call the nearest vet if you see any signs of trouble...good luck

Well if the puppies are to big she could die, and most puppies are born the same size. It also depends on how big the other dog was. If the dog was a lot bigger than your dog, your dog's puppies can be too big for its stomache. your dog will die if you don't do something quikly. try taking it to the animal hospital. If the puppies are too big for its stomache, your dog will have to lose its babies before they're born, or your dog will possibly die. I hope that this didn't scare you, and that everything goes well. Good luck.

I would talk to your vet. There is a chance that she may need a c-section. It is possible for her to be okay but, I would take her in for a check up right away its the humane thing to do. It would be a benefit if you listed what the dogs breeds are in the question.

Small dogs and big dogs can mate. If the small dog if the female the mating process and pregnancy may be hazardous to her health because the puppies could grow too large for her to carry and kill her.

No. Puppies are not born the same size. I would think you would know this. Why didnt you get her spayed so you dont have to worry about this? Now, if all goes okay, what are you going to do with the puppies? Did you think this out ahead of time? I dont think you did.
