Pain in the center of the chest can be a number of things. I am an RN in the ER, and I will tell you that your age does not exclude you from the possibility of a cardiac anomaly. In fact, due to your age, the problem can be very serious. If you are having cardiac trouble, you haven't had enough time for your body to build a system of capillaries around a blocked artery. Many older people in their 60's and above survive heart attacks because it was a gradual process. The younger ones usually don't fair as well.

Hopefully it is something else. It can be lung related, or even something to do with your GI system. I wouldn't let it go. EKG is a simple, non-invasive test that can tell you Dr. a whole lot. Also, they can do blood work that will give them some insight as to what might be happening. Then they can chose from there what might be necessary.

Good luck to you, and please follow up with your Dr. The worst he can say is that there isn't a thing wrong with you, and I am sure you would be happy to hear that.

Any chest pain should be evaluated by a doctor immediately.
Too many people wait too long before they seek help. With chest pain, you never can be too cautious.

Do you have a gall bladder?
Are you eating lettuce, cabbage, brussel sprouts, peppers, or onions?
Those foods will agravate a gall bladder going bad on you.
Good luck!
