I knew my husband for 8 years before we even thought about dating. Mostly because we were both in relationships off and on. I think about what I wouldn't have now if we'd never taken the chance and I just can't see things working out any other way. Life is about taking chances. I moved over 1000 miles to be with my husband, changed my life overnight and although it hasn't been perfect, it's been an amazing ride along the way and I wouldn't go back and change a thing. You need to listen to your heart and take the chance and you'll find that being in a relationship with someone who is your best friend already can be wonderful.

My boyfriend was in Iraq for about seven months,(talk about long distance!)He was 21 and i was 18 and we were good friends before we dated, it was hard but we made it work because i knew that he was the one i wanted to spend the rest of my life with.Once i made that decision I knew not even distance could come between us.What I'm trying to say is what is meant to be will be no matter how far or what the circumstance is.So if you feel in your heart that pursuing this man will long lasting and successful than go for it ,but never let distance be a hindrance.I wish you all the best truly you deserve it .

I think it's best if it just doesn't happen at all, move on with your life, trust me, you will find someone closer to you and who cares about you just as much, or more, and visa verse!
This is Too Too sticky of a situation to get yourselves into, I wish you both all of the best!, I know it is hard to let go and to fond someone you care about so much and who cares for you, but it will all work it self out in time. So until then, go on with your life as you would normally and forget about this whole "mess" ....
Then again, it depends on where are, both are, in your lives?...
Since you Have known one another so long, if it wasn't long distance... maybe?.... BUT IF YOU MOVE!... Trust Me!, That IS a Huge decision... but maybe it's just one that you have to / need to? do to find out?... Beware though... Things like this can leave a mark with you Forever if it goes wrong... so be prepared, if you decide to do this...
Good Luck! ...

Don’t know, you’re the only one who can tell that coz you know him better. But about the situation you had, there’s nothing wrong with long distance relationship. As you already said “things would be way awkward between us if we broke up" so why would you do that? Enjoy the moment you were with him...have fun.
Good luck...

I think you and your guyfriend needs to communicate more to see if you want to start a relationship together. Who knowns, he maybe the one for you. If its meant to be, distance will not be a problem at all.

if you dont give it a go you'll always wonder.
if it doesnt work out, like you said you are friends to begin with, you'll work it out.
i think you should move closer to each other. give it a go! who knows, this man may be the love of your life..???
good luck!!!!

i don't know, how many times have you ever met someone who you like and he likes you at the same time too :) chances are pretty low isnt it? since you find that someone, i guess its worth giving it a try and giving it your very best effort too, it will work if you guys are willing to make it work

By telling each other you like each other, things have already changed. Why not try it out?

it would be long distance therefore it wouldn't work unless one of you moved.
