a. I take my dog for both of us. That's my favorite time of the day.
b. I have a Gordon setter. She is a hunting dog so just walking on a leash is not enough. I take her to a woods and field on hilly terrain near my home an let her run free. It's about about a mile hike but she must do about three miles to my one. I live in the north and some days it's windy and only 13 degrees. In the summer I take her to the nearby lake and we go swimming. It's a long walk through a woods to get there and a long climb down to the beach. I'm 65 and I plan to keep doing this as long as I can.
c. We go 20 to 40 minutes once or twice every day depending on the weather but longer in the summer.
d. My dog gets depressed if I wait too long in taking her for a walk. She gives me sad looks, sulks, then sits in front of the TV if I'm watching it. If I don't move she walks over to my chair, gets in my face panting until I finally get up. As soon as I get up she gets excited wagging her tail and following me around while I'm putting on piles of warm clothe and boots to face the bitter cold. If it wasn't for my dog I wouldn't get any exercise. She has me well trained.

A-I do it for both, one he loves it, and his breed is extremly energetic. and I do it so my doctors cant say i dont get enough exercise.
B-I own a Doberman Pinscher, and i pitt/cure mix, but shes very old, and cant go on walks because she will get too excited and have a heart attack ( breaks my heart every time I have to leave her : [ )
C-I try to take him everyday, But its hard becuase im in school till 5, and latly its been REALLY cold, (all you people up north are probably laughing at me, bc its only in its 60's here :/ , but he, and me really dont like it.)
D- And if i dont take him, he will get a kong instead, and since we have 3 fully chained linked acres, i just let him out of the house to play, and he enjoys that alot more :) becuase he gets more freedom and plays in the woods, so he kinda more than prefers it.
And we get about a 15 minute walk when the weather is cold but when its a nice day, we go all day :)
But I have to some how give him some excercise becuase Dobermans are extremly energectic, and if not, he will raise hell.
Hes very spoiled lol. But i love him with everything in my body.

I take my dog for a walk at least twice a day. We go for walks for the obvious reason as well as to get rid of some of his energy. I have a 21 month old Blue Lacy and he is FULL of spunk. We walk 4-6 miles a day, usually 45 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening...the bare minimum. If the weather isn't too cold or nasty we go for a walk during my lunch hour as well. Pretty much I get him out as often as possible.
If I didn't take my dog out we would both go crazy. He would have too much energy to run around the house tearing things apart. Plus, I like the exercise I get as well.

Q: Do you take your dogs for walks for them or for your own exercise?
A: I started walking them for their own exercise but then I soon realized the benefits it gives me as well. First and foremost it is for them, if I didn't have them I wouldn't have the discipline to make myself walk everyday.
Q: What breeds of dogs do you own?
A: Boston Terrier/Beagle mix (a "Boggle") - 2 1/2 yrs. old, 37 pounds and Pug/Rat Terrier mix (a "Pugrat") - 2 1/2 yrs. old, 20 pounds.
Q: How long on average do you take them and how often?
A: We usually stick to the same route which takes us an hour. It's about 3 - 4 miles and they pretty much pull me the whole way, they can't get enough, they LOVE it. I take them everyday unless it's raining, snowing, or over 80 degrees or under 35 degrees
Q: What will they do if you won't/can't take them?
A: I can definitely tell the difference - they are very restless and bored, they sit and look at me and whine/cry, they try to get at their leashes as if to tell me "Hey let's go for a walk" - unless there are any of the above weather conditions - they HATE rain, they like to play in the snow but not to go for a walk in it - they are babied indoor dogs and can't take extreme cold or extreme heat!

a. For all of us, but mostly for my dogs. I work out at home with my mom & sister but I'm underweight so it wouldn't matter.
b. Pitbull/Rottweiler cross, American Pit Bull Terrier & an American Staffordshire Terrier.
c. I alone take them for maybe an hour each day, I take them to my old schools feild (it's right across the street from my house) to run around for a long time, but lately exersize has been weak as I have a really bad cold. I have 2 sisters and a brother who walk them also, but since I wanted the dogs they are mostly my responsibility.
d. I'll either ask my brother/sisters to walk them or play games in the basement with them, it's big enough to play fetch. =)

I have a black lab, and if you could see her you would know that she does not go for walks. Last spring we would walk her about 3 to 5 days a week, both for her exercise and for my husband to exercise, since he had problems with his heart and the doctor encouraged exercise. I'm hoping that as the weather gets better we can start walking again. We walked about one mile and it took about 15 minutes. Our dog LOVES to go walking, but sometimes it's very hard to keep her at our pace, which isn't slow, but isn't a run either. We do play ball in the backyard almost every day though.

a. I take my dog for a walk for my own benefit, as well as his. Walking is awesome exercise for dogs and people!
b. I have a lhasa apso and a basset hound/daschund.
c. I take my Lhasa on one 30-45 minute walk every day (usually in the late afternoon). I also spend 1-2 hours playing with him in the house, or in my teeny yard. He spends countless hours chasing the cats around my townhouse apartment. We go to the dogpark twice a week for 1-2 hours so that he can run around as much as his little heart desires. My basset is old, so she's content laying around and walking to her food bowl. Occasionally she likes to go for a short walk (she usually lets everyone know when by going to the door and crying until I ask "walk"? and her tail wags). She likes to sit out in the yard, as well.
d. If, for some reason, I am not paying attention to what my dogs want (doing homework online for class, etc.), they go tell my boyfriend. It usually doesn't happen that way though because they get very very persistant. My Lhasa will bring every single one of his toys out of his basket and leave them on my feet. This is 10-15 different rope toys, balls, stuffed.. things... Then he will squeak whatever has a squeaker in it. If I kick them off my feet, he starts pawing my feet like a cat. My basset will bark until I look at her.

A. I take my dog for a walk for both of us, she & I each get fresh air & exercise!
B. A Yellow Lab
C. I try to go every morning before my family gets up & going, we usually are out for an hour.
D. My lab pouts (sounds crazy I know) but she mopes about all day looking at me with her sad eyes.
Walking my dog is my favorite time of day, she pads along next to me, we get to hear and see the early morning sounds and sights. A great way to start your day :0)
