My son's spent two tours of duty over there in the Army, and the son of friends of mine has spent the same amount of time in Afghanistan as a Major in the Army, and from those two sources, I can tell you that the war's won if certain individuals will quit trying to sell our country, our soldiers, etc. down the drain, like they did in Vietnam. God Bless our soldiers. God Bless our country. God Bless you.

In my opinion, the best way to settle the whole issue of the Iraq war is to do what other democratic countries do in settling any controversial issue. This is done by handling a referendum. All U.S. citizens can cast their vote as to whether they are in favor of the Iraq War or not. Americans had been so divided on the Iraq war, so a referendum is the only answer to settle the matter once and for all. Let the voice of majority prevail. There's no way to win a war as long as the American people are not united in favor of the war.

When you write won, what do you mean?

If you mean that there will be a US-friendly secular government, without daily car bombs, I think that is fantasy.

The Shi'a make up 60% of the population of Iraq. They were systematically exploited and oppressed for at least the last forty years. It's payback time. In any sort of democratic vote, the head of government will be Shi'a.

The Sunnis (20%) had the power, and make up most of the elites. They are going to lose. They are the insurgents. They'll stop if the Sunnis get a better stake in the government, which is unlikely because the Shi'a want their time now.

Given this, how do we "win"? I don't think mass murder is a solution. We have to let them sort it out, much like we are letting the Congo sort it out, and get out. We've got no dog in this fight.

Yeah the Middle East are toast and better start learning the correct salute. Ahh, the favorites will always survive. Too bad for the libs, theyll just have to room up with Bin Laden and the mountain boys cause they are in for some serious butt kicking when all is said and done. The Right is always right. Hehe. Dont be jealous.

The UK announced it would be removing 3,000 of the 7,000 in southern Iraq. The US has roughly 160,000 with the increase recently. I do not think the leaving of 3,000 UK troops or even the 7,000 will make much of a difference to the war. I do believe we should pick up the fight & finish it. No playing nice in war - go for the throat & be done.

First off...a full media blackout. Then house to house searches. Then when we've rounded up everyone we can and interrogated them all and then rounded up everyone that they dropped dime on drop some propaganda bombs saying that the carpet bombing begins in 24 hours...then start in 12. Watch the rats head for high ground. Flex some f*ckin' muscle and send a message; also pull out of the UN and see how much power they have without us. So the world will hate us...what's new.

We knew the Brits were going to leave, and they are being replaced by hardened Iraqi Security Forces. The situation will be the same.

i dont agree at all. i know since i am an army wife i am supposed to support our government, but i dont. to cut a long story short, everything we are over there doing, needs to be done here. second of all, isnt it a crime in america to kick in someones door? Then why are we doing it to them? third, we are going for the bad guys over there, well when just one is left standing, he can start a whole new little club to bomb our asses. Whats the damn point?

Seeing how the Brits are guarding oil wells in the Persian Gulf and not much else, they're contribution will not go missed! Oh yes by the way, use the Neutron bomb!! That way we can keep the buildings and the oil...Hey let's face it we need the stuff, and we do not need any more of an Iraqi nuisance!! Nuking will waste the resources.

I think all the men and women that are under the age of thirty-five and support war in Iraq should sign up and go support the troops.

Parents of those that support the war in Iraq should send their sons and daughters to go to Iraq and Afganistan to go get killed for no apparent reason.
