I used to date this girl and I have never been able to get over her in 2 years. I have prayed to God countless times to help me or show me a sign of what I am supposed to do to get over her.
This last weekend, I fell asleep during a prayer time at church and I dreamed an entire day from my relationship with the girl word for word. It was the day that I finally trusted her completely and realized that I really did love her. The next night, my mom (unprovoked) talked to me about how someone can regret breaking up with someone for the rest of their life. She then talked to me about my relationship with the girl and told me that she thinks I should pray about it and that she things God intended for the girl to be with me.
I was a tad distressed, seeing as I still talk to the girl everyday but we are both dating other people (we still admit to liking each other in subtle ways). That is not the point. The point is, was the occurrence of my dream and my mom's speech coincidence or a sign?

Definitely not from God. But not positive as to the real source. My instincts tell me you are still confused about your feelings for the young lady and then your mom, unintentionally I am sure, reinforced those confused emotions by promoting the relationship again.
If you really loved this young lady and felt that God desired her to be with you then you would not be posting here on yahoo. You would be pursuing this girl with all your heart to both win her and do God's will. I think there are many things about the young lady that appeal to you. It could be her personality, her looks, her demeanor, or just that you enjoy being with her on a social level.
I would suggest that you enjoy her friendship and if it is meant to be of God, I assure you he will take care of it.
It was just a coincidence that the regret of breaking up was your mom's and expressed to you at an awkward time.
Chill out, relax and let God have control. Hope I have been of some help.

No offense, but if there was a God, you think He would give signs to anyone about their love life when He couldn't even be bothered with preventing the Inquisition or the Crusades?
But, you're subconscious may be trying to get a mssg to you. And, you're mom probably picked up on subtle (or not-so-subtle) signs.Try talking to a counselor (if you're still in school) or a psychologist (I think they're for anybody and phychiatrists are the ones who prescribe medication)

I think it a beautiful thing that you have experienced loving someone this much. Your mother must be spiritually blessed to have suggested you seek God for a better understanding of your feelings.
You are blessed because you know how to love. I wished I could give you hope that things will turn out like you want. I do believe God is involved in your heart and he is going to lead.

I would say it is what you make of it. If you want to take it as a sign from God, then go ahead. If you are meant to be with this girl, then go for it. Just ,make sure that the dream means you are supposed to persue her and not just punishment from God for falling asleep in church.
